The Cancer Programs Coordinator is responsible for coordination of the cancer program, with primary responsibility for Commission on Cancer (COC) accreditation, multidisciplinary tumor board/cancer conference operations, and collaboration with the cancer registry teams. This role serves as a key liaison between physicians, administration and contract workforce to ensure program compliance, data integrity and ongoing program development. Coordinates and implements cancer program projects as well as collaborates with appropriate organizations in the development and coordination of community/staff projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Preferred: Associate’s degree

Experience
Preferred: Oncology experience working directly with physicians and patients.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Fluency in Cnext, MS Office, iKnowMed, Aria, Cerner.
Excellent knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to analyze data.

Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Essential

Assists Director and Manager in the operation of the Cancer Registry and Cancer Programs.

Leads all activities related to CoC accreditation, ensuring ongoing compliance with current standards.
Coordinates and documents multidisciplinary tumor board/cancer conference (including case selection, physician engagement and compliance tracking).

Prepares for CoC site visits, accreditation reviews and cancer committee reporting.

Coordinates, facilitates and documents cancer committee meetings and track action items.

Ensures required documentation and program activities meet CoC standards.

Supports development and growth of program initiatives.

Serves as program liaison between hospital and contract workforce for cancer registry oversight.

Coordinates and facilitates cancer support groups.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

$21.61 -$32.42
