Cancer Center Access Analyst

Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Access Analyst is an integral member of the responsible for partnering with ambulatory practices to help achieve the goal of optimized patient access to services within the health system to meet Health System goals. The Access Specialist is a liaison for all cancer center departments; gathers compiles, analyses and presents information and reports from multiple systems and departments, identifies access barriers and partners with the practice on improvement solutions by reviewing the performance against target conditions and goals, develops recommendations and does build within the EPIC environment to ensure solutions are integrated with all technology to enhance the patients experience while meeting the provider ,department and health system needs.. Required Cadence proficiency/certification
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Must be proficient/certified as recognized through EPIC in Cadence. This must be maintained throughout employment in this role.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Responsible for the build and maintenance of physician templates, visit types and blocks within the EHR by working with access and revenue cycle analysts, health system leaders/providers and HITs.
- Ensures adherence to template standards as developed by the Cancer Center
- Ensures builds are integrated seamlessly with enhancement technologies.
- Works with individual provider clinics to process and manage requests for schedule changes.
- Obtains, compiles, and presents data and possible solutions (if requested) for the Cancer Center working with multiple different departments across the health system (including HITS, Revenue Cycle, Telecom, Analytics & Reporting).
- Reviews dashboards, analyzes data, pulls preset reports or navigates within the system (such as appointment turnaround time, MyChart and internet appointment requests) on a regular basis to identify divergence of access and targets or identifies problems with capacity management.
- Regulates appropriate use of decision tree algorithms, scheduling policies and procedures, including regulating automated call distribution system and appointment phone numbers/scripting.
- Recommends improvements and provides feedback/guidance to appropriate Cancer Center leaders or others as appropriate to resolve issues or concerns.
- Implements best practices based on leadership guidance and in collaboration with team.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University
- 3 or more years of healthcare clinic operations with familiarity with EHR scheduling workflows and/or revenue cycle experience that included knowledge of operational scheduling strategies, clinic throughput and performance improvement. AND
- Proficiency /Certification in Cadence as recognized through EPIC OR
- 7 or more years of healthcare clinic operations with familiarity with EHR scheduling workflows and/or revenue cycle experience that included knowledge of operational scheduling strategies, clinic throughput and performance improvement.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Additional proficiencies through EPIC, EpicCare Ambulatory, Prelude or other certifications relating to the Ambulatory environment is preferred.
Required Licensure and Certification
- EpicCare Ambulatory Certification - Epic Systems Corporation
Required Language Skills
- Advanced English - Ability to read, write, and speak English
Knowledge Requirements
- Strong computer skills, Interpersonal communication.
