This position is a supervisory position at the Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices (CAMD) at LSU. The position is responsible for maintaining the CAMD facility. Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities, this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67. This position is on call 24/7. This position is classified as a safety and security-sensitive position. These positions are subject to drug screens per PS-67/FASOP HR-04. This position is considered emergency essential and may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18. This position will require a physical evaluation based on the physical demands required.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and execute building maintenance policy for main building and staff office buildings, clean room environmental system, air/gas/water/ systems, HVAC, electric feeders, general mechanical installations, building intrusion and fire (and other) alarms, building control systems, building structural components, and grounds. (40%)
Supervise and/or help perform all mechanical, electrical, and control-system building modifications, coordinating with University Facility Services when work is needed on larger building systems, including the HVAC system, electrical feeders, and building code issues. Instrumentation maintenance and repair; service the "utility" end of high-tech equipment and infrastructure. (20%)
Cryogenics: liquid helium and nitrogen, order liquids, maintain equipment, and maintain liquid levels in all dewars. Assist in liquification and other processes with the Scientific Support group. (10%)
Coordinate and supervise all external contractors. Act as liaison with LSU Campus Facility Services. (10%)
Supervise inventory (annual inventory) and surplus; coordinate with LSU Property Management. (10%)
Other duties as assigned. (10%)
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years experience

A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years experience in mechanical/electrical systems with a mechanical background in installation and fabrication, methods, and electrical experience in electro-mechanical control systems. Basic computer knowledge, inventory control experience, and knowledge of electrical controls.
