The Facilities CAD Technician is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing facility and production-area layouts to support a high‑volume semiconductor wafer fabrication environment. This role ensures that tool installs, facility upgrades, and reconfigurations are executed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The engineer partners closely with Facilities, Manufacturing, and Equipment Engineering teams to deliver first‑pass‑success installation packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update detailed facility and tool‑install CAD drawings, including cleanroom layouts, utility connections, and infrastructure systems.
- Support fab reconfiguration efforts, including space planning for new equipment, capacity expansions, and facility modifications.
- Develop accurate CAD packages for tool installations, ensuring alignment with safety requirements, building codes, tool P&ID, cleanroom protocols, and fab operational constraints.
- Collaborate with Facilities Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Tool Owners to collect requirements, validate utility needs, and produce properly scoped installation packages.
- Maintain drawing accuracy through rigorous version control, documentation, and coordination with cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, site walks, and hazard assessments to ensure safe and executable plans.
- Identify layout or infrastructure conflicts early and propose engineered solutions that optimize space and utility routing.
- Support long‑term fab layout strategy, capacity planning, and infrastructure roadmap initiatives.
- Communicate layout updates in electronic and paper format to team members.
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD standards for industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of facility infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, process utilities, gas, chemical distribution preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, utility schematics, and equipment specifications.
- Excellent organization, version control, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills; able to work with engineers, tool owners, contractors, and management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver accurate drawings under tight timelines.
- Willingness to learn fab-specific safety protocols, tool‑install procedures, and semiconductor facility workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom facilities, or other high‑tech industrial environments.
- Familiarity with tool‑install packages, facility routing, and cleanroom space constraints.
- Knowledge of building codes, life‑safety considerations, and industrial safety practices.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools — a plus but not required.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $70,000 – 90,000USD.
Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications
