CAD Operator - JLL
What this job involves - Creating and modifying technical drawings using AutoCAD software based on specifications from architects, engineers, and designers. You'll be responsible for producing accurate, detailed architectural and PID drawings that comply with industry standards and project requirements while maintaining drawing databases and ensuring version control.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Converting rough sketches, markups, and instructions into detailed CAD drawings
Making revisions to existing drawings based on feedback from project teams
Creating as-built drawings from field measurements and observations
Organizing and maintaining drawing files according to project standards
Preparing drawings for client presentations and construction documentation
Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field personnel
Performing quality checks on drawings before submission
Supporting the project team with technical documentation needs
Working with engineering firms to transfer drawings in house from large projects
Build out/expand the drawing repository including sourcing legacy drawings from in house and external parties
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in drafting, design technology, or equivalent experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D CAD or comparable CAD software
Understanding of drafting symbols and conventions
Ability to accurately measure and scale drawings
Strong organizational skills and file management practices
Excellent attention to detail and quality control
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Basic understanding of construction methods and materials
Good communication skills to coordinate with project teams
Desired Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) principles
Familiarity with drafting standards and construction terminology
Understanding of architectural and engineering concepts
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
Strong spatial reasoning and attention to detail
Understanding of GMP and non-GMP drawings
Location: Bloomington, IN
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, days
