Job Summary:

Clear Channel Airports AutoCAD Designer, under supervision of the Engineering Manager, produces precise technical drawings and documentation to support engineering, permitting, and client‑creative needs for airport advertising projects. Using AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator, this role generates detailed specification drawings used by clients to develop artwork and by project teams to guide fabrication and installation. The CAD Designer reviews Tenant Guidelines, ADA requirements, prepares submittals, updates as‑built drawings, maintains documentation in Procore, and collaborates with engineers, contractors, vendors and project managers across multiple markets to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely project execution.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support all engineering activities related to assigned project builds, including preparation of engineering phasing submittals for Airport review, city permitting packages, location‑approval exhibit maps, and detailed CAD specification drawings for client creative.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain detailed AutoCAD drawings to support design intent, fabrication needs, and installation requirements for client artwork and other project components.
  • Review Tenant Guidelines for designated markets to ensure drawing sets and submittals meet all required standards, codes, and compliance criteria.
  • Upload, organize, and manage drawing documents within Procore project management software, ensuring accurate version control and timely distribution to project stakeholders.
  • Participate in weekly project meetings for all assigned markets to coordinate updates, resolve design issues, and support engineering and project management teams.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and external partners to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings to incorporate relevant details and ensure compatibility with overall project design.
  • Perform site‑based drafting tasks, including updating as‑built drawings, redlining updates from field teams, and incorporating installation feedback into revised documentation.
  • Ensure drawing compliance with internal drafting standards, layer management, naming conventions, and quality‑control procedures.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator to generate detailed specification drawings that advertising clients use to create artwork, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and adherence to project and branding requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested, supporting engineering, design, and project‑execution workflows.

Job Qualifications:

Education

  • Associates degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.
  • Certificate in drafting/CAD not required but preferred

Work Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in architecture, computer aided drafting, project management or related field
  • Construction/project management experience a plus

Skills

  • AutoCAD proficiency for detailed technical and engineering drawings
  • Adobe Illustrator expertise for creating artwork specification drawings
  • Technical drafting and detailing, including dimensioning, layout, and scaling
  • Understanding of engineering and architectural plans, elevations, sections, and site layouts
  • Knowledge of permitting and submittal documentation requirements
  • Ability to review and interpret Tenant Guidelines for compliance
  • Procore (or similar project management software) for document control and version tracking
  • Redline and as‑built updating based on field input or installation feedback
  • File organization and digital documentation management
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all drawings and documentation

  • Occasional bending, reaching, or lifting of project materials, drawings, or equipment (typically up to 20–25 lbs).
  • Ability to participate in on‑site visits, which may involve walking, standing, or navigating project areas for up to one week as necessary for project scouts.
  • Clear communication abilities, both verbal and written, for participating in meetings and coordinating with project stakeholders.
  • Capability to work in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
