Position Overview:

Performs a wide variety of production planning activities and supports procurement, as required.  Responsible for managing assigned product lines, commodities and supplier bases.

Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of material deliveries for ODI Orlando and Brazil sites including purchasing and planning responsibilities.

  • Releases and manages work orders and rework work-orders

  • Responsible for parts procurement, product on-time-delivery, materials on-time-delivery, linear shipment scheduling and processing non-conforming material

  • Responsible for sales order ship date maintenance and establishing sales order shipment dates

  • Use material forecasting methods during initial development phases to secure long lead components. Tracks progress with internal and external suppliers.  Develops risk mitigation plans for material on the critical path.

  • Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials

  • Develops and manages processes to utilize IFS distribution orders.

  • Provides weekly status reports regarding material deliveries for all major projects. Highlights risks to schedule and revenue forecast.

  • Provides resource planning information to production management for the next 6 months.  Identifies potential resource constraints and collaborates with the management team to develop an action plan to resolve them.

  • Request, evaluate, and negotiate quotes/contracts. 

  • Issues intercompany or supplier purchase orders as required, using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels.

  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, collaborating with management, sales, production or engineering.

Education and Experience:

  • BS Degree in related field preferred

  • CPIM Certification preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of supply chain management or production planning experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 1 to 3 years procurement experience

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of Engineer to Order manufacturing processes.

  • Certifications through APICS or ISM (CPIM, CPM, CIRM, CSCP or CPSM) a definite plus

  • Project management or project coordination experience a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills- written & verbal.

  • Ability to work with little supervision in a fast-paced environment

  • Computer Literate- proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Professional appearance and behavior

  • Must be available for extended work hours as required
