The Opportunity

The buyer will ensure continuity of supply of materials needed for production and new product development teams. Activities include obtaining quotations, generating purchase orders, scheduling deliveries, communicating schedule impacts, and generating work orders.

What You’ll Work On

• Generates work orders and takes appropriate actions to manage the day-to-day build schedule.

• Manages production orders to identify possible part shortages or significant changes in inventory.

• Manages production orders in SAP, including engineering order set up and old order clean-up.

• Generates purchase orders to support production and project requirements.

• Communicates purchase order requirements to suppliers and take appropriate action for schedule adherence and continuity of supply.

• Works closely with Global Planning, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and other functional areas to optimize inventory and minimize material shortages and disruption to Operations and/or development schedules.

• Participates in supply chain initiatives and project teams.

• Develops and maintains strong supplier relationships.

• Coordinates the return of materials to suppliers.

• Sets and maintains ERP system parameters (i.e. safety stock, lead time, etc.).

• Files documents and/or records.

• Supports company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and other regulatory requirements.

• Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

• Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Required Qualifications

  • Related business field (Supply Chain, Finance, Business Admin, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 4 years of Procurement and Planning/Scheduling
  • Knowledge of ISO, FDA QSR and cGMP. Strong understanding of lot control / traceability required
  • Recent experience with large-scale MRP/ERP system, such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Strong proficiency with computer software, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong keyboarding skills. Strong understanding of current MRP/ERP, purchasing, planning, inventory management, and production principles.
  • High attention to detail. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to represent Company with outside suppliers in a professional manner.
  • Able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple projects/priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Capital equipment manufacturing experience.
  • Medical device manufacturing industry experience.
  • Professional certification in purchasing or materials management.
  • Strong understanding of lot control/traceability experience.
  • Proficiency with SAP.
  • Project management experience.

The base pay for this position is

$81,500.00 – $141,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
