Position Summary:

Serves as a merchandising generalist for replenishment and procurement for a specified division.  Responsible for maintaining accurate cost records, product life-cycle management, and managing fully landed product costs.  Acts as the divisional resource for inventory and supplier related business needs (primary supplier contact).

Essential Functions:

  • Executes product life cycle management (new product introduction through product discontinuance).

  • Executes timely and accurate cost record management for stocked and special order items.

  • Supports new supplier and item set-up process and system activities.

  • Supports  inventory management activities for all product conversions.

  • Collaborates with suppliers to solve quality and/or service problems; expedites deliveries as necessary.

  • Maintains an awareness of current market conditions, causal factors (weather, seasonality, raw material, etc), and product availability to properly maintain inventory for our customers while avoiding product loss.

  • Responsible for releasing Purchase Orders, and replenishing inventory.

  • Responsible for primary and backup sourcing solutions.

  • Assists in developing strategies and action plans to achieve desired fully landed product cost solutions.

  • Aligns with, and supports enterprise procurement philosophies while meeting divisional business objectives.

  • Works closely with sales and marketing to meet all customer product needs.

  • Responsible for the disposition of long, outdated and obsolete inventory.

  • Communicates with divisional merchandising teams as necessary.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Human Relations - ability to work in teams, interact with others across departments/roles, develop relationships, etc.

  • Self Management - self directed with ability to deal with distraction, repetition, prioritization, fluctuations in workload, ambiguity, etc.

  • Mathematical - knowledge of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiply, divide and percentages).

  • Communication - excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.

  • Time Management - ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute efficient work processes.

  • Supply Chain Management - knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits

  • Customer Service - knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Problem Solver - ability to problem solve and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems by comparing, classifying, innovating, analyzing, coordinating, copying, etc. May refer to established precedents and policies.

  • Product and Category - advanced knowledge of supply chain principles and techniques.

Equipment / Tools / Technology:

  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, e-mail,  and Google applications.

  • Standard office equipment including copy machine, fax, printer, laptop/PC, mobile technology, teleconferencing and remote connectivity
