This role is in support of Cencora's global consulting services (GCS) marketed through our PharmaLex business.

We’re hiring a Digital Solutions Lead— lead cross-functional transformation from strategy to execution, driving process improvement, change, and measurable outcomes.

Job purpose

The Digital Solutions Lead is a strategic leader responsible for driving digital transformation within a specific business domain ([Business Group, BG]), identifying opportunities to leverage digital technologies to enhance service delivery and create impactful business outcomes. This role is primarily business-focused and serves as the key driver of digital innovation, aligning digital initiatives with the company’s strategic goals.

In collaboration with the Digital Discovery Partner (DDP), the Digital Solutions Lead oversees the business-oriented aspects of the digital roadmap and ensures its successful implementation within the business domain. While the DDP owns the roadmap from a technical perspective, the Digital Solutions Lead ensures the alignment of these initiatives with business priorities, enabling the organization to achieve measurable value for its people, clients, and shareholders. This partnership ensures that digital solutions are both strategically impactful and technically sound, creating a cohesive approach to achieving Cencora GCS’ digital transformation goals.

This role is pivotal in positioning Cencora GCS as a digital technology leader in the pharmaceutical industry by fostering a culture of innovation and ensuring that digital transformation initiatives deliver long-term strategic impact.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership in Digital Transformation

  • Lead the digital transformation strategy for assigned business domains, identifying key areas where digital technologies can drive operational excellence, innovation, and growth.
  • Define and oversee the business-focused digital roadmap in collaboration with the DDP, ensuring alignment with Cencora GCS’ strategic goals.
  • Act as the primary business driver for digital initiatives, ensuring that digital solutions address organizational priorities and deliver measurable value.
  • Monitor and evaluate the long-term impact of digital transformation initiatives, providing strategic guidance to ensure continued alignment with the company’s vision.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a strategic partner to Business Group leadership, aligning digital initiatives with business needs and objectives.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Digital Discovery Partners, development & operational teams, Product Managers, Product Owners, and technical leads, to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment.
  • Engage with external technology partners and vendors to explore and leverage cutting-edge solutions that enhance business outcomes.

Innovation and Business Value Creation

  • Identify emerging digital trends and technologies that align with business goals, contributing to Cencora GCS’ reputation as a technology-driven organization.
  • Drive the development of innovative digital solutions that enhance service delivery, improve client satisfaction, and create competitive differentiation.
  • Build robust business cases for digital initiatives, focusing on ROI, commercial performance, and alignment with strategic objectives.

Oversight of Digital Roadmap Implementation

  • Oversee the implementation of the digital roadmap from a high-level strategic perspective, ensuring initiatives remain aligned with business priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with the DDP, who owns the technical aspects of the roadmap, to ensure strategic alignment between technical execution and business objectives.
  • Provide strategic input on key decisions related to Buy/Build/Partner approaches for digital initiatives.

Organizational Leadership and Change Management

  • Champion a culture of digital innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Guide the organization through the changes required for successful digital transformation, ensuring stakeholder alignment and buy-in.
  • Serve as a thought leader within and outside of the organization, contributing insights and recommendations to senior leadership on the strategic direction of digital transformation.

Key Decisions made by Digital Discovery Partner role

  • Strategic prioritization of digital initiatives based on business impact and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Selection of business-focused digital transformation opportunities.
  • High-level decisions related to the implementation and oversight of the digital roadmap.

Critical qualifications, experience, ‘know-how’ and skills

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience in Cencora GCS’ business domains.

Experience

  • Strong knowledge of relevant products and business areas as well as competitors in this domain
  • Extensive experience in driving digital transformation and innovation within a business context, preferably in the pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industries.
  • Proven track record of aligning technology initiatives with business goals and driving measurable outcomes.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and influencing executive leadership.

  • Strategic thinking and ability to align digital initiatives with broader business goals.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of how digital technologies drive value in regulated industries.
  • Exceptional leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Expertise in developing and overseeing digital roadmaps and business cases.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
  • English language fluency.
