What does a successful Senior QA Engineer – Automation do?

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer – Automation to join our team and ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation for .NET and Angular-based applications, along with experience in API testing, DevOps pipelines, GitLab, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and AWS environments.

This role involves close collaboration with developers, business analysts, product owners, and DevOps teams to define test strategies, build automation frameworks, and ensure high-quality releases across all stages of the software delivery lifecycle. Exposure to AI-based testing tools or intelligent test automation will be considered an added advantage.

What you will do:

• Design, develop, and maintain test strategies, test plans, and test cases for enterprise applications.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks for web, API, and backend testing.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing for .NET and Angular applications.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for UI, API, and database validation.
• Collaborate with developers and business teams to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria.
• Integrate automated test suites into GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Validate deployments across DEV, SIT, UAT, and Production-like environments.
• Perform testing in containerized and Kubernetes-based environments, ensuring application stability after deployment.
• Support release validation in environments managed through ArgoCD and GitOps practices.
• Validate application behavior and integrations in AWS-hosted environments.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects, working closely with development teams for timely resolution.
• Participate in root cause analysis for production issues and help improve overall quality processes.
• Conduct API testing using tools/frameworks such as Postman, Rest Assured, or similar.
• Perform database testing and data validation using SQL queries.
• Contribute to performance, reliability, and non-functional testing activities where required.
• Prepare and maintain test documentation, automation reports, and quality metrics.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote QA best practices across the team.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in test automation, DevOps, cloud testing, and AI-driven QA.

What you will need to have:

• 8+ years of IT experience in software testing, with strong expertise in test automation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in testing web applications, APIs, and enterprise systems.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
• Experience in automation using languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Good understanding of applications built on .NET / .NET Core and Angular.
• Strong experience in API testing and validation of REST services.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, and CI/CD-integrated testing.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous testing approaches.
• Hands-on exposure to Docker and Kubernetes (k8s) environments.
• Experience validating deployments and releases using ArgoCD.
• Working knowledge of AWS environments and cloud-based application testing.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques.
• Experience with defect management and test management tools using Jira.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and proficiency in technical English for documentation and collaboration.
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and support high-quality release delivery.

What would be great to have:

• Experience in performance testing using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or k6.
• Exposure to security testing and basic secure testing practices.
• Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber / SpecFlow.
• Knowledge of contract testing, service virtualization, or mock frameworks.
• Exposure to AI-based testing tools, self-healing automation frameworks, or intelligent test generation.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, or similar.
• Prior experience in enterprise product development, financial services, or high-availability systems.
• Ability to define QA strategy and drive quality engineering practices across teams.
