NXP Semiconductors is seeking a highly strategic and technically adept individual to join our team as a Business & Technology Strategist for the Secure Connected Edge. In particular, you will be instrumental in defining the future direction of our secure edge processing solutions, with focus on NFC, mobile wallet, secure element, UWB, secure analog and interfaces, for mobile, industrial, and IoT applications. In this role, you will work directly with the SVP/GM of the product line, to establish business and technology strategy, study market trends, identify market opportunities, and translating into actionable business strategies that drive growth and innovation.
Your Responsibilities:
Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis, identify emerging trends, customer needs, technological advancements, and white spaces for NXP to establish leadership.
Strategic Roadmap Development: Define and evolve the long-term business and technology strategy for NXP's secure connected edge portfolio. This includes identifying key technology pillars, product categories, and ecosystem partnerships required to achieve strategic objectives.
Strategic Investments and Acquisitions: Create compelling business cases for strategic investments into start-ups or acquisitions. Quantify market potential, revenue projections, and return on investment.
Technology Scouting & Incubation: Monitor and evaluate disruptive technologies, startups, and research initiatives. Propose and lead incubation projects for promising new technologies or business models.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product management, sales, and marketing teams to translate strategic vision into concrete product roadmaps, go-to-market strategies, and sales enablement initiatives.
Customer & Partner Engagement: Engage with key customers, industry partners, and thought leaders to gather insights, validate strategies, and identify collaboration opportunities. Represent NXP at industry conferences and events.
Competitive Intelligence: Maintain a deep understanding of competitor strategies, product offerings, and technological advancements to inform NXP's strategic positioning.
Strategic Planning & Communication: Develop and present strategic plans, recommendations, and market insights to executive leadership, providing clear rationale and actionable proposals.
Your Profile:
Educational Background:
Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related technical or scientific field.
Professional Experience:
Significant experience (typically 8–10 years or equivalent) in business development, product management, strategic marketing, or technology strategy roles within the semiconductor or adjacent technology industries.
Domain Expertise:
Experience in the secure connected edge ecosystem is a plus, with exposure to areas such as embedded processing, microcontrollers, secure elements, connectivity technologies (e.g., NFC, UWB), AI/ML at the edge, security and software services, and cloud‑to‑edge architectures.
Expertise may span several — but not necessarily all — of these areas.
