Business Systems Analyst Intern

Join us for a 12-week internship with the Business Systems Analysis (BSA) & Marketing Technologies Team!

The Business Systems Analysis & Marketing Technologies team partners closely with Global Marketing and cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable technology solutions. We support initiatives across digital platforms, data, and marketing technologies, working in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and Agile-driven environment.

During this internship, you will gain hands-on experience supporting real business initiatives while learning how business requirements are gathered, documented, and translated into technical solutions that power customer-facing and internal systems.

In this internship role, you will have the opportunity to gain skills in the following areas…

  • Business systems analysis fundamentals, including requirements gathering and documentation
  • Translating business needs into Agile user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Exposure to Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Working with cross-functional teams including product owners, developers, data engineers, and quality engineers
  • Understanding marketing technology ecosystems and how systems integrate to support business outcomes
  • Professional communication and stakeholder collaboration in an enterprise environment

Day-to-day asks are likely to include:

  • Supporting Business Systems Analysts in gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements
  • Assisting with the creation and refinement of Agile user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria
  • Participating in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and reviews
  • Helping maintain documentation related to business processes, requirements, and system workflows
  • Shadowing and collaborating with technical teams to better understand how requirements are implemented
  • Conducting basic analysis of business processes to identify gaps, questions, or opportunities for improvement
  • Communicating with team members and stakeholders to clarify requirements and next steps

Ideal skills for this role include:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable asking questions and collaborating with others
  • Attention to detail and ability to organize information clearly
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Interest in business systems analysis, product management, or technology delivery
  • Basic understanding of Agile concepts (coursework or academic exposure is sufficient)
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar documentation and project-tracking tools (a plus, not required)
  • Basic technical aptitude or coursework in information systems, computer science, data, or related fields

Requirements for the role include:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program majoring in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have completed at least one year of college
  • Demonstrated academic success and interest in technology and/or business analysis through coursework, projects, or prior experience
  • Location: must be local/driving distance to our corporate HQ in Westbrook, Maine.  You will be able to work on-site, on a hybrid basis.
