Job Description:

Business/Systems Analysis at TD is part of an enterprise-wide product and delivery ecosystem. The Business/Business Systems Analysis team acts as a bridge between business and technology, collaborating on critical initiatives to ensure secure and stable operations, develop new capabilities, and deliver seamlessly for both customers and colleagues. The Business Systems Analyst is a pivotal member of our technology and business solutions team, responsible for bridging the gap between organizational strategy and technical execution. This role involves analyzing complex business processes, designing efficient systems, and ensuring that technology solutions drive tangible business outcomes. The Senior Business Systems Analyst acts as a trusted advisor to both business stakeholders and technology teams, facilitating collaboration to deliver solutions that support corporate objectives and enhance user experience.

Job Accountabilites - What You'll Do:

Business Systems Analysis is a professional field that generally requires formal education or relevant experience. It demands a strong understanding of requirements management, business-related systems, operational processes, related technology, industry knowledge, enterprise technology delivery practices and standards, and project management. A thorough understanding of the businesses supported and enterprise methodologies is essential.


As a Business Systems Analyst III, you will be responsible for:

  • Requirements Elicitation and Management: Collaborate with pod members/business stakeholders to plan, elicit, analyze, document, communicate and lead the delivery of detailed functional and non-functional requirements in alignment with Delivery Execution Framework (DEF) and TD Behavior Driven Design (BDD) Standards. Create and maintain detailed documentation including business requirements, process flows, use cases, user stories, and technical specifications. Ensure documentation remains current with clarity, accuracy and traceability. Active participation in brainstorming and storymapping sessions. Refine user stories to ensure requirements are clearly understood by all stakeholders and meet the expected business needs/desired outcomes.
  • Business Process Analysis: Conduct analysis in current business processes and workflows (AS-IS) to understand existing capabilities and identify improvement opportunities. Responsible for the documentation of AS IS and TO BE process maps and contribute to recommendations that align with best practices and business goals.
  • Solution Design: Translate business requirements into system specifications by working closely with technology partners Participate in solution design discussions, ensuring alignment to documented requirements and enterprise standards, and assist in maintaining end to end traceability throughout delivery.
  • Testing and Deployment Support: Contribute to testing activities by validating scenarios and outcomes against documented requirements. Support implementation and deployment activities to help ensure solutions meet intended business needs.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage with business and technology stakeholders to support requirement clarification, issue resolution, and ongoing communication. Participate in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Demos, refinement sessions, and meetings as required. Liaise with third-party vendors and consultants as needed, ensuring their deliverables align with TD standards and business needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in business analysis practices and stay current with emerging technology trends, including Artificial Intelligence (AI). Develop and maintain an informed understanding of how AI driven solutions such as automation, analytics, and intelligent decision support can be applied to business processes and technology solutions. Build expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery. Continuously enhance knowledge of business domains and their products/services.

Job Requirements - What You Need to Succeed

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in related field or relevant certifications.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related roles in a corporate or technology enabled environment.
  • Project Management: Solid knowledge and experiences in Agile or SAFe Agile methodologies, including practices, ceremonies, and documentation standards (i.e. Behavior Driven Development BDD)
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), business systems integration, and process automation concepts. Experience using analytical and documentation tools such as MS Office, process modeling tools, and Atlassian tools including Confluence and Jira is an asset. Exposure to data analysis, SQL, data analytics, and business intelligence platforms is beneficial.
  • Artificial Intelligence Awareness: Demonstrated foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and use cases, with a strong interest in understanding how AI can be leveraged within enterprise systems, business processes, and customer or colleague experiences. Ability to collaborate effectively with technology partners to translate AI related capabilities into clear business requirements and value driven outcomes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down business needs into clear, structured requirements. Attention to detail and an organized approach to managing information.
  • Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience participating in meetings, workshops, demos and collaborative working sessions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and building positive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to changing business priorities and emerging technologies. Willingness to learn and grow skills as new technologies and practices emerge. Ardent to work multi-functionally and independently.
