Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. The BSA will analyze business processes, gather requirements, and work closely with stakeholders, developers, and QA teams to deliver effective system enhancements and new solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technical projects using Agile, Scrum, methodologies.
  • Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate with engineering, product, QA, and business teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and project meetings.
  • Support solution design, testing, implementation, and post-go-live activities.
  • Track progress and provide regular status reports and KPIs to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Manage change requests and scope adjustments.
  • Create process flows, data flows, and system diagrams.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement reviews, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Maintain documentation such as BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and test scenarios.
  • Provide ongoing support and enhancements for business applications.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3+ years in technical projects.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and software development processes.
  • Experience in Fintech industry, audit artifacts.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum, Kanban methodologies.
  • Experience using project management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar.
  • Strong risk management, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Data Analysis, Microsoft Office, Visio, or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, CSM, SAFe, or similar certification.
  • Experience managing cloud, infrastructure, or data projects.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience working with distributed or global teams.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $120,000- $140,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site while other days may be remote.
