About You
Are you a systems-focused problem solver who enjoys improving how people work? Join RMIT as a Business System Analyst and play a key role in shaping the tools and processes that support world-class research.
In this role, you’ll be one of two Business Systems Analysts sharing responsibility for keeping our systems performing at their best - solving complex issues, delivering enhancements, and partnering with researchers, support teams, and vendors to ensure the tools they rely on are reliable, efficient, and continuously improving.
Your day-to-day will include managing service requests, troubleshooting technical issues, analysing workflows, and contributing to projects that enhance system functionality and user experience. You’ll collaborate as a small, focused team supporting each other’s work while also managing your own portfolio of tasks and initiatives.
If you love problem-solving, enjoy collaborating with diverse teams, and have a knack for turning technical complexity into practical solutions, this is your chance to make an impact.
At RMIT, you’ll join a community that values innovation, inclusion, and integrity. You’ll help enable research that changes lives, while building your own career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
Demonstrated understanding of system administration practices, lifecycle management, and governance within enterprise or research management systems, including coordination with IT support functions and vendors.
Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills with the ability to work collaboratively with academic, professional staff and technical areas to understand challenges and deliver practical solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the capacity to assess complex issues and develop effective, data-informed, and sustainable solutions aligned with institutional objectives.
Demonstrated experience in gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements, and translating them into system configurations, workflows, and process improvements.
Proven ability to develop and maintain accurate documentation, including process maps, knowledge articles, training materials, and reports, ensuring clarity and version control.
Demonstrated capacity to work independently and proactively, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
