What You Will Do:

As a Business Support Advisor, your duties will encompass:

  • Leading the process of assembling information for project cost estimates, initiating POs, and performing continuous monitoring and control over POs, commitments, incurred expenditures, and PO forecasting and supervision. You will be accountable for an estimated $30-40M per year.

  • Championing the application of Enbridge-sanctioned cost control processes in project activities and providing input for process improvements.

  • Strategically prioritizing multiple, competing projects by effectively managing work activities and prioritizing tasks based on department objectives and the company’s strategic plan.

  • Collaborating with the Regional Services department and liaising with other project collaborators for all POs in the area.

  • Assessing policies and procedures and suggesting enhanced processes for managing project costs.

  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities with existing contractors and vendors.

  • Cultivating and managing vendor relationships, ensuring accuracy in invoicing and billing processes.

  • Demonstrating technical expertise to implement advanced cost coding controls for complex work scopes, improving accounting accuracy.

Who You Are:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A related university degree or technical diploma is required. Preferably in finance, accounting, or business management. Alternatively, a combination of related certification and at least four years of directly related experience is accepted.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, company financial systems, enterprise structure, and standard operating procedures.

  • The capacity to handle and rank workload effectively while solving issues without delay.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with peers, internal and external collaborators.

  • An interest in building and maintaining positive relationships with employees, internal collaborators, vendors, and service providers.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is usually based in a Field Office (95%). Travel to remote field locations (5%) is required.
