Strategic Investments and Partnerships, within State Street’s Corporate Advisory Services is responsible for identifying, developing and managing strategic partnerships, joint ventures and minority investments for State Street Corporation, as well as advising the Company on opportunities and challenges created by disruptive technologies and other innovation that may impact State Street or its clients. The Strategic Investments function is focused on developing new avenues for growth for State Street by identifying strategic partnerships that drive commercial value, add new capabilities, and provide economic benefit to State Street. The team you will be joining plays an active role in setting the strategy for State Street. Across the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
Who we are looking for
Vice President, Strategic Investments supports the execution of projects using quantitative and qualitative analyses such as strategic evaluation, financial modeling, detailed valuation, capital analysis and target due diligence. The position affords the candidate with an opportunity to make a difference and lasting impact on State Street's overall success while working within a dynamic, collaborative and high-performing team executing challenging work. The small team size and high level of activity requires the candidate to take on significant project responsibilities from initiation to close.
What you will be responsible for
Analyze potential strategic investment transactions, other strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects to support senior leadership in making key decisions
Construct detailed financial models and valuation analysis
Drive all aspects of due diligence, including coordinating with commercial partners to identify and quantify sources of financial opportunities and risk
Perform market research and competitive analysis
Draft investment presentations and recommendations for all stages of the deal process (from sourcing to integration)
Monitor and intercede, as necessary, portfolio company performance and progress against internal commercial outcomes
Develop and produce quarterly portfolio review for senior management
Education & Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experience of working with strategic investments at a Fortune 1000 company, a top tier investment bank or private equity / venture capital firm
Financial institutions experience is a plus
Bachelor’s degree
Self-starter with superior analytical and quantitative skills
Track record of excellence (vis-a-vis peer group) in prior endeavors
Demonstrated ability to work well on small teams
Highly motivated with high attention to detail and sense of urgency
Ability to effectively communicate with individuals on all levels of the organization

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $188,750 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
