Reporting to the Manager, Government Security Compliance, the Business Security Manager provides an opportunity for a motivated, knowledgeable and highly confidential specialist to take ownership of the security and facility responsibilities of our Australian operations.
With a high attention to detail, working autonomously or collaboratively when needed to ensure the stakeholder needs are met, your new role engages directly with Australian and US based team members, Australian Defence Force personnel, statutory authorities and security officers within the Collins network – providing global experience and opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Accountability for Australian facility and security requirements, Australian Government and Defence compliance requirements.
- Working with in-country leaders to ensure personnel and facility needs are met, including educating, communicating, analysing and reporting. Collaborating on audits coupled with monitoring and completing open actions to minimise, counter and close out risks.
- Working with the Digital Technology Manager (DTM) for Secure/Classified Networks, as well as managing the company’s Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) membership; keeping current and then communicating changes in statutory requirements, legal obligations, organisational policies and security updates.
- Duties related to administration of the position, training personnel, site escort for authorised attendees. Reporting and investigating security breaches, concerns and events as well as, engaging with approved authorities in the event of reportable incidents.
- Model company values, leadership behaviours and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, the Code of Conduct and Ethics and governance requirements.
Skills, attributes and experience:
- High integrity and highly confidential with a background and experience in the Defence and Facilities sector pertaining to security and operational requirements.
- Highly conversant the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) Framework; with specialisation in site security management to address risks and ensure a secure environment in virtual, remote and physical environments.
- Highly competent and confident in the use of Information Technology and Communications (ICT) tools and technology, along with experience communicating and implementing statutory/legislative and organisational security policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to work within tight deadlines in matrixed structure and multi-faceted external environments; proficiency communicating in diverse formats including written, verbal and presentation skills; whether face-to-face, virtual or remote environments.
- Security-related qualifications with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role within the Defence industry.
- Must be Australian citizen for this role and already hold Security Clearance
