Who we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced Business Risk Management (BRM) – Business Unit Aligned (BUA) Assistant Vice President to support Global Delivery (GD) functions. This role will act as a senior first‑line risk partner, working closely with GD business leaders to strengthen the risk and control environment, support strategic change, and embed effective governance into business‑as‑usual activities. The role contributes to a consistent #OneBRM approach and supports delivery against firm‑wide risk management objectives.

As Business‑Aligned Risk Officer you will play a pivotal role in:

Business Risk Partnership

  • Serve as the primary BRM point of contact for assigned Global Delivery business units and functions.
  • Maintain strong, ongoing engagement with business leadership to understand operational priorities, risk exposures, and emerging trends.
  • Provide effective challenge and advisory support to enable informed decision‑making and alignment of risk management with business outcomes.
  • Capture, monitor, and escalate material risks and concerns through appropriate governance forums.

Risk & Control Oversight

  • Support the embedding of the Global Delivery risk and control framework into day‑to‑day operations.
  • Partner with BRM pillar teams to identify control gaps, assess control effectiveness, and support remediation planning.
  • Provide oversight across key risk activities, including risk assessments, issues, incidents, and remediation actions.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and examinations, working with the business to deliver timely and sustainable closure of findings.

Strategic Change & Risk Integration

  • Provide guidance and constructive challenge to ensure that business and transformation initiatives are appropriately assessed for risk impact.
  • Ensure changes are effectively integrated into the risk and control environment, including governance, processes, and controls.
  • Assess and communicate the impact of change on the overall risk profile to senior stakeholders.

Governance, Reporting, and Stakeholder Management

  • Support governance forums through preparation of risk updates, thematic insights, and management information.
  • Communicating risk matters clearly and concisely, translating technical concepts into business‑relevant messaging.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, BRM colleagues, and internal assurance teams.
  • Promote consistent ways of working and collaboration across the BRM organisation promoting a unified #OneBRM voice.
  • Work closely with other Business‑Aligned Representatives and BRM pillar teams to align priorities and share emerging themes.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Experience

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience in financial services, banking, insurance, analytics, consultancy, or a comparable industry.
  • Experience in risk management, governance, controls, audit, or business‑aligned risk roles within large, complex organisations.
  • Experience working within one or more lines of defence (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).

Knowledge & Skills

  • Sound knowledge of governance frameworks and control environments.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to track delivery against agreed timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify themes and assess risk impacts.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including engagement with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across regions, cultures, and disciplines.
