RBC

Business Risk Analyst

London, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Full time

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Join RBC Wealth Management Europe (WME) as a Business Risk Analyst and become a key player in shaping a stronger, smarter risk culture that drives success for our clients and the firm. At RBC WME, we’re not just managing wealth — we’re building trust, innovating, and protecting futures for individuals, charities, and pension funds through bespoke investment, retirement planning, and tax-efficient investing solutions. As part of our Business Risk team, you’ll bridge the gap between business ambition and risk governance, using your analytical mindset and passion for innovation to turn challenges into opportunities. This isn’t just a role; it’s a chance to make a tangible impact while working with cutting-edge technology like AI to elevate our risk capabilities.

What will you do?

Risk Partnership

  • Build trusted relationships across WME business teams, acting as a risk consultant who empowers smarter decision-making.
  • Guide and train teams on key controls and risk management, helping them navigate complexity with confidence.
  • Support the identification, documentation, and escalation of operational issues — designing sustainable fixes with clear ownership and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Audit and Risk Governance to ensure safe, sustainable growth for our businesses.

Risk Data & Analytics

  • Undertake data-driven analysis to support day-to-day identification, assessment, and monitoring of risks.
  • Leverage Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms to uncover trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Use of technology and data visualisation tools to automate reporting, build dashboards, and enable faster, data-driven decisions.
  • Produce presentations that bring risk insights to life for committees and stakeholders.

Risk Capability & Culture

  • Champion innovation to streamline processes, boost efficiency, and drive client success.
  • Collaborate with experts across teams to elevate performance and embed RBC’s values (Client First, Integrity, Collaboration, Respect, Excellence) in everything we do.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proven financial services experience, preferably in Wealth Management, Risk Management, or Audit.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Tech-savvy with Excel, data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau), and a curiosity for automation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail — you spot what others miss.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with GRC tools (e.g. Archer, MetricStream, IBM OpenPages).
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python, SQL, VBA) to supercharge analysis or automation.
  • A business-minded approach to leveraging tech for simpler processes or cost savings.

What is in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best - progressive thinking to keep growing and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.  We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and stretch opportunities.
  • Work with AI, automation, and advanced analytics in a forward-thinking team.
  • Competitive compensation, performance bonuses, and flexible benefits tailored to your needs.
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team where your ideas matter.
