Business Product Owner, Sales Technology

We are seeking a motivated person to join our dynamic and growing team. This individual will play a key role in continuously improving and enhancing our business technologies.

The primary purpose of this role, situated within the Sales Enablement team for John Hancock Insurance's Distribution unit, is to focus on business technology platforms including Salesforce and JHINI. The role leverages expertise to drive project success and ensures development best practices are applied. This position partners with the Technical Product Owner on tactical delivery, collaborates on UAT and training, facilitates demonstrations, ensures cross-team coordination, assists in squad resources requests and reporting, and coaches and mentors the squad.

The Sales Enablement Center team is a group of specialists committed to enhancing sales performance and streamlining processes within the distribution team. Their focus is on developing strategies for growth by empowering and equipping our sales team for success.

Key Accountabilities

  • Business Technology Management: Leverage expertise to drive project success. Ensure development best practices within these platforms.
  • Tactical Delivery Partnership: Align squad to achieve successful outcomes. Utilize BRDs to define and refine user stories. Efficiently manage the product backlog and collaborate with the squad to groom user stories.
  • UAT and Training Collaboration: Partner with Sales Technology Implementation Lead to facilitate UAT, allowing the creation of comprehensive deployment documentation and training materials.
  • Demonstrations Facilitation: Organize and lead demonstrations to showcase outputs and progress prior to deployment.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Coordinate with other teams to manage dependencies and integration efforts. Ensure bi-directional communication with surrounding systems.
  • Resources and Reporting: Assist with resource allocation, and asset management. Ensure optimal resource allocation. Capture key outcomes and provide quantifiable results. Maintain thorough documentation to track progress and impact.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Guide the squad to understand and align with business needs. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in business product ownership or related roles.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce (required).
  • Ability to be collaborative and productive within a team environment.
  • Experience guiding teams/squads to understand and align with business needs.

Salary range is expected to be between

$73,350.00 USD - $122,250.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
