Business Operations - Tandem San Francisco (Summer 2026)

Tandem is hiring 2–3 new grads for a rotational summer internship with the intent to convert to a full-time role on our operations team.

This is a 3-month program designed to give you a taste of the different sides of operations at a fast-growing startup — and give us a chance to figure out where you'd fit best on the team long-term.

About Tandem

We're the first AI-native office brokerage, helping fast-growing startups find office space. We also operate Basecamp, a shared workspace in SoMa that's home to ~100 YC and venture-backed companies — one of the densest concentrations of early-stage startup energy in San Francisco.

What you'd actually do

Rotate across our SF operations team. Over 3 months, expect to:

• Tour prospective customers through Basecamp and other SF office spaces
• Run kickoff calls with new tenants moving in
• Help support deal negotiations
• Build hacky systems using Claude Code to help scale our business development and growth efforts

This is an on-the-ground role. You'll spend a lot of your time out in the city - touring spaces, meeting customers, walking tenants through move-ins. We say this up front because we want to be clear: this is hard work, and the people who thrive here are the ones who are energized by being out in the world. If you want to very quickly learn what it’s like to work at a startup and experience this magical SF AI moment, you should consider this role!

Who we're looking for

• A recent grad (or graduating spring 2026) who wants to break into the San Francisco startup scene
• A go-getter with low ego - you've built things, run things, sold things, organized things, hustled for things, on your own initiative
• Someone who genuinely likes people and is energized by being in a room full of them
• Bonus, not required: any background in sales, customer-facing work, events, community, or running your own thing

Why this is unusual

Most ops roles at startups want 2–3 years of experience. We've found that the best people on our team came in green and learned fast — but they're hard to identify on a resume. So we're skipping the resume.

Because we serve startups and run a shared workspace for over 100 YC teams, we have a front-row seat to the emerging AI scene in San Francisco. This is an opportunity to get direct exposure to the YC/AI startup scene - and break in - for someone who might otherwise feel like an outsider.

The rotational structure exists because we want to work together, spend time learning you and where the best fit is within our organization, and give you a chance to see the job before committing. Our intent going in is to convert.

Logistics

• 3 months, rolling start — final application deadline June 1, 2026
• In-person at Basecamp SF, 5 days/week
• Converts to a full-time role with salary + equity if it's a fit
