The Department Business and Operations Manager is a proven leader in operational, technical, and professional accountabilities of the department. The Business Manager works collaboratively with peer Nurse Manager in supporting the Chief Nursing Officer and Clinical Director in providing oversight and delivery of safe, high quality patient care and staff wellbeing.
The business manager supports operational excellence in planning, directing, and controlling material resources and business activities in conjunction with peer nursing manager, other Clinical Departments, Quality Department, Value Improvement team, Finance Department, Material Management and Revenue Cycle teams.
The Business Manager functions as an intermediary between these departments for ordering, billing, revenue, and expense information, for reports and analysis of operational quality and efficiency and with the peer nurse manager and director for action planning.
This position will provide oversight for the department and supply/inventory management systems.
The Business Manager also provides leadership in organizational planning, quality improvement and growth, intra- and inter-department collaboration, and communication with emphasis on strategies to reduce safety risks, staff development, and customer service.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements with all state and federal regulatory requirements including CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22, CDPH regulations, DNV-GL/NIAHO standards and other regulatory bodies associated with the department operations. Follows organizational policies and procedures and hospital business standards. Curate meaningful data, develops reports and presentations, conducts rigorous monitoring, auditing and action planning to course correct when necessary to establish and meeting operational and marketing goals.
Has 24/7 accountability for department operations.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospital Administration, or related field
Master’s preferred or within 5 years of hire
Completion of management training program
Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
1 Year as a department supervisor or manager
BLS (must be AHA certified).
Required License/Certification:
Certification in Management (or within 1 year of hire)

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $130,000.
