About the role

The Business Operations Lead – Commercial Governance sits within the Technology Business Management (TBM) team and plays a critical role in strengthening governance across AGL’s Technology commercial ecosystem.

The role ensures Technology vendors, including managed service providers and Statement of Work (SoW) suppliers are engaged, governed, and utilised in line with commercial policies, contractual obligations, and Technology governance frameworks.
By uplifting commercial governance capability and maturity, this role enables better decision‑making, improved financial transparency, reduced risk, and stronger alignment between Technology strategy, workforce plans, and budgets.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own and uplift governance frameworks, controls, reporting and processes for all Technology vendor and partner engagements
  • Ensure compliance across SoWs, extensions, rate changes, managed service drawdowns, and utilisation decisions
  • Provide independent commercial assurance, validating financial alignment, contractual clarity, SoW quality, and adherence to TBM principles
  • Identify and proactively manage commercial risks, recommending mitigations to Technology leaders and bundle owners
  • Guide Delivery Leads, Domain teams, Project Managers, and Service Owners on governance, SoW interpretation, and commercial pathways
  • Deliver reporting & insights to support budgeting and forecasting across contingent workforce and managed service spend
  • Lead governance education and uplift initiatives to strengthen commercial discipline and capability across Technology

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive experience in contract and commercial management with IT vendors and suppliers
  • Strong understanding of contingent workforce and managed service models in complex environments
  • Proven ability to build trusted partnerships and influence outcomes across senior stakeholder groups
  • Well‑developed negotiation, influencing, and relationship‑management skills
  • Strong analytical capability with experience delivering clear, actionable commercial insights and reporting
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the confidence to provide authoritative advice on governance and compliance
  • Experience operating within, or alongside, procurement, legal, and enterprise governance frameworks

We’d love to see your applications by Friday 8th May 2026.
