Why this role matters
The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration, and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey.

About the role

As a Business Operational Support, this is your opportunity to support daily operations for The Salvation Army team within The Orange Door Inner Gippsland, ensuring high quality administrative support to a service assisting Family Violence clients with complex needs.
 

Reporting to the Manager - The Orange Door IGA, this is a permanent, part time role, offering 19 hours per week, based in Leongatha, VIC.
 

How you will make an impact

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support across the service, including communication management, document preparation, calendar coordination, meeting scheduling, and compliance‑related tasks
  • Maintain organised systems for records, finance processes, asset registers, archiving, databases, and other quality‑assurance tools to ensure information is accurate, accessible, and secure
  • Oversee office operations by managing equipment maintenance, supplies, kitchen consumables, building needs, and vendor contracts while staying within budget
  • Support staff processes such as onboarding new employees, coordinating events, arranging travel when required, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day functioning of the workplace
  • Handle correspondence and information flow, including phone calls, mail distribution, confidential material, and ensuring files and documentation are up to date and easy to retrieve
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by participating in training, supporting new system implementation, and working within WHS legislation and organisational policies to strengthen service delivery

What you will bring

  • Relevant Business qualification such as Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration (desired)
  • Demonstrated experience in reception/administration responsibilities
  • Experience in working for NFP and family violence sector (desired)
  • Employee Working with Children’s Check
  • A valid Victoria Drivers Licence
