Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary of $122,600.00 - $204,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Cox Automotive is hiring a Senior Manager of Business Intelligence to join our team! The Business Intelligence Senior Manager is a key position responsible for acquiring, synthesizing and organizing business data from internal and external sources. The person in this position will drive business results and empower informed, data-driven decisions by providing timely insights to support the Cox Fleet business. In addition, they will be tasked with creating specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. This role will regularly partner with our cross-functional teams in operations, sales, marketing, product, and others as needed to provide consultation to users on optimal methods to access, analyze and derive meaning from produced datasets and reports.
What You’ll Do
PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Recognize analytics opportunities and initiate and develop strategic plans that will advance organizational analytics capabilities and improve operational effectiveness by driving strategy cross-functionally
- Translate analysis results and insights into cohesive stories, articulating analytical concepts in a concise and easy to understand manner to analytics and non-analytics audiences via presentations
- Act as a trusted advisor to multiple business partners on a wide range of analytical projects from reporting to ad hoc requests to large-scale cross-functional engagements
- Collaborate on a roadmap with other team members to ensure clear direction and priorities for data collection, synthesis, and analysis
- Manage and execute complex projects spanning multiple product lines and areas of business
- Communicate findings throughout the organizational hierarchy, inspiring decision-makers to adopt bold strategies and helping business and tactical teams execute them effectively
- Monitor the full range of data identification, collection, synthesis, report generation, and distribution to ensure adherence to applicable governance requirements including privacy, storage, attribution, and integrity
- Develop and recommends continuous process improvement initiatives for the Business Intelligence team
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline (e.g., Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, etc.) and 8+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master's degree and 6+ years, or PhD and 3+ years, or 12+ years total experience)
- 3+ years in a management or leadership role
- Proven ability to connect data to business outcomes by designing and interpreting KPIs tied to financial performance, identifying leading and lagging indicators for key functions, and enabling reliable performance reporting through effective data sourcing and integration.
- Advanced‑level SQL expertise required, including complex query development (e.g., subqueries, CTEs, window functions, performance optimization, and data transformations)
- Experience building staging tables, reusable datasets, and analytics‑ready data layers
- Hands‑on experience designing and maintaining scalable, forward‑thinking data models that integrate multiple disparate data sources
- Experience developing production‑ready dashboards using Business Intelligence visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including various functions/formula, visualization development, and plug-ins for other business intelligence platforms
- Experience translating analysis results and insights into cohesive stories, as well as articulating analytical concepts in a concise and easy to understand manner to both analytics and non-analytics audiences internally and externally
