Business Improvement Executive

Regional & Agribusiness Banking (RAB) Sydney

Do work that matters

At Commonwealth Bank, we’re focused on delivering great customer experiences that make a real difference. That means supporting the financial wellbeing of our customers, regional businesses, and the communities we live and work in.

See yourself in our team

Regional & Agribusiness Banking (RAB) supports customers right across regional Australia, providing tailored banking solutions to agribusinesses, regional commercial clients, and local communities. Our teams build strong relationships with customers, understand their unique business cycles, and focus on delivering sustainable outcomes through strong execution, risk discipline, and continuous improvement.

As a Business Improvement Executive, you’ll play an important role in supporting local crews by bringing structure, clarity, and insight to how work is planned and delivered. This role suits someone who enjoys problem‑solving, is well organised, comfortable working with data, and motivated by helping teams perform at their best.

The opportunity

Based in Sydney, this Business Improvement Executive role supports a number of crews within Regional & Agribusiness Banking. You’ll work closely with Crew Leaders and key stakeholders to help translate strategy into action, track progress against priorities, and embed strong planning, delivery, and governance practices. You’ll also play a key role in identifying opportunities for improvement and helping teams stay focused on what matters most.

What you’ll do

You’ll support planning and prioritisation activities, helping crews turn strategic objectives into clear plans, outcomes, and milestones.

Working alongside Leadership, you’ll help facilitate discussions that confirm priorities, align initiatives to RAB goals, and ensure commitments are well understood and achievable.

You’ll also support the preparation and coordination of key forums such as Performance Forums and planning sessions.

In terms of performance and insights, you’ll track progress against agreed OKRs, milestones, risks and dependencies, using dashboards and reporting tools to provide clear, practical insights. You’ll proactively highlight delivery risks or emerging issues, support escalation where needed, and prepare governance and performance updates that help leaders make informed decisions.

You’ll also play a role in strengthening delivery discipline by supporting adherence to delivery frameworks, standards, and group policies. This includes helping ensure quality information is maintained across tools and systems, supporting reviews of initiatives when required, and contributing to continuous improvement in how work is delivered.

Beyond delivery, you’ll support capability and culture uplift by sharing best‑practice ways of working, supporting understanding of agile principles, and helping teams build confidence in planning, governance, and execution. You’ll also support workforce capacity tracking and contribute to discussions that enable the right resourcing decisions.

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring experience supporting teams in execution, business improvement, operations, risk, or delivery roles, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment. You’re organised, analytical and comfortable working with data, with strong attention to detail. You communicate clearly and confidently, can build trusted relationships with a range of stakeholders, and enjoy working collaboratively to solve problems. Experience in project or initiative delivery and strong Excel skills will be well regarded.

Why join us?

This is a great opportunity to build your business improvement capability in a regional setting, work closely with local leaders, and make a tangible impact on how our teams deliver for customers and communities.
