The Business Functional Analyst (Requirements Engineer) is a pivotal role bridging the gap between client needs and our technical delivery teams. You will be instrumental in the successful delivery of diverse and challenging projects, heavily involved at all stages of the software delivery lifecycle. From initial scoping and planning exercises to detailed analysis and close collaboration with IT teams, you will drive the development of working software that meets our clients' requirements. We are seeking an enthusiastic, pragmatic self-starter who excels at problem-solving, delivering quality and cost-effective solutions through exceptional business analysis techniques and deep functional domain knowledge.

Your key responsibilities
- Requirements Elicitation & Analysis: Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and technical teams, eliciting, analyzing, and documenting complex business requirements for large-scale IT solutions.
- Solution Design & Specification: Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and conceptual designs, working directly with agile delivery teams (Scrum teams) to ensure clarity and feasibility.
- Agile Team Collaboration: Actively participate in all agile ceremonies, collaborating closely with engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to refine backlogs, elaborate on user stories, and ensure a shared understanding of deliverables.
- Product Ownership (Agile): Leverage your experience as a Product Owner in agile teams to guide product development, prioritize features, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives. Experience in scaled agile environments is a significant plus.
- Domain Expertise: Apply extensive practical knowledge of Retail Banking IT, specifically within core domain Frontends & Channels, and possess a strong understanding of Cloud technologies.
- Technical Focus: Demonstrate a strong background in data-driven APIs and digital payment solutions, with a particular focus on online platforms, APIs, and various payment transactions (FinTS; SEPA, DTAZV, MTxxx; MT940, CAMT).
- Problem Solving & Innovation: Proactively identify and resolve challenges, proposing innovative and cost-effective solutions that deliver tangible business value.
- Quality Assurance Support: Support quality assurance activities by providing insights into requirements and expected behavior, ensuring the delivered software meets defined acceptance criteria.
- Continuous Learning: Maintain a passion for constantly learning and adapting to the constantly evolving web environment and technological landscape.
Your skills and experience
- Broad experience (also practical) in requirements engineering for large-scale IT solutions as part of scrum teams, working directly with engineers.
- Broad experience (also practical) in detailing and creation of User Stories, as well as concepts and specifications for agile delivery teams.
- Previous experience working as a Product Owner in agile teams is required; working in scaled agile environments is a plus.
- Good analytical and communication skills, demonstrating strong independence and initiative, with the ability to thrive in agile delivery teams.
- Deep knowledge of Retail Banking IT, especially the core domain Frontends & Channels, coupled with Cloud Knowhow.
- Strong background in data-driven APIs and digital payment solutions with a focus on online platforms / APIs, payment transactions (FinTS; SEPA, DTAZV, MTxxx; MT940, CAMT).
- Fluent in spoken and written English. German at B1 level or higher is a nice to have.
