Naval Systems and Sustainment (NSS) sub-strategic business unit is seeking a highly motivated candidate to serve as the Business Execution Special Projects Lead, reporting directly to the NSS Business Operations Manager. The Special Projects lead works closely with the Naval Power Leadership Team, the NSS Leadership Team, Program Directors, Functional Leaders, and Program Managers leading strategic projects; performing strategic, business, and operational analyses; and facilitating strategic communications.  Due to the breadth of responsibility, this position provides exposure to the day-to-day operations and strategic direction, as well as the opportunity to demonstrate a high level of creativity, innovation, and initiative.

The Business Execution Special Projects’ role is a highly visible position requiring high attention to detail while responding quickly to urgent business needs. Responsibilities include leading various SSBU initiatives as defined by the mission area goals, strategic and tactical facilities planning, indirect budget management, continuous improvement projects, integration of the CORE Operating System and RTX Life Cycle Program Management (RLPM) best practices to improve execution and overall program performance, and development of executive-level reviews and reports. Key attributes of this role include strong communication skills, facilitating and brokering solutions that solve problems, identifying opportunities, and improving the overall health of the NSS business. The ability to develop solutions to problems with a high level of complexity is critical for this role.  

**This is an onsite position at our Tewksbury, MA facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with the NSS Business Operation Manager and the NSS Leadership Team to integrate and influence strategy, communications, planning, continuous improvement, cadence, alignment/collaboration, and continuity across the portfolio
  • Display strong oral and written communication and presentation skills with senior leadership
  • Lead key NSS SSBU initiatives and/or special projects
    • Serve as a primary resource for driving current and future initiatives/special projects within NSS SSBU
    • Manage multiple projects, including event coordination, leader engagements, etc.
    • Execute planning, coordination, and delivery of special projects to ensure consistent, high-quality implementation
  • Support NSS SSBU and Program level Goal Alignment activities
    • Serve as a resource for driving Goal Alignment activities within NSS SSBU portfolio
    • Play a key role in Improvement Target / Metrics; to include but not limited to Non-hardware (Services) on-time delivery metrics and pulse survey actions
  • NSS SSBU Primary Point of Contact for RTX Life Cycle Program Management (RLPM)
    • Engage with NP, NSS, Program RLPM leads
    • Help teams implement RLPM Best Practices to drive business results
  • NSS SSBU Primary Point of Contact for Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE)
    • Engage with NP, NSS, Program, and Functional CORE leaders to identify opportunities to apply CORE
    • Engage with major NSS SSBU R&O Owners to assess their Handling Plans and to ensure proactive use of CORE Tools/Methods are embedded into those Handling Plans as appropriate
    • Conduct NSS SSBU and Program level CORE engagements and workshops to identify opportunities that facilitate achieving desired business objectives
    • Support NSS SSBU and Program CORE Improvement Target initiatives; including but not limited to CORE Control Rooms (CCRs) adoption/implementation
  • NSS Representative supporting the Naval Power Culture Council

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Experience leading initiatives while engaging with cross-functional teams and various levels of stakeholders
  • Experience managing programs/projects

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail while responding quickly to urgent business needs
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence leaders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, Excel and Power point)
  • Experience planning and facilitating events, such as workshops or forums
  • Experience in program management across multiple program lifecycle phases or strong knowledge of program management concepts
  • Prior leadership/management experience
  • Experience working cross functionally (ex: Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • Experience identifying opportunities and finding solutions that solve problems with a high level of complexity 
  • Experience with business and/or program management tools or systems
  • Experience with Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE)
  • Experience with RTX Life Cycle Program Management (RLPM)

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
