About the Role

The Business Engagement Manager drives new logo acquisition for Ryder's Fleet Management Services (FMS) contractual sales products — Choicelease and SelectCare. You'll own a defined territory on the east side of Detroit, deploying a go-to-market strategy anchored in Salesforce that blends digital outreach, tele-prospecting, and strategic in-person engagement to build and close a consistent pipeline.

This is a hunter role. Your focus is new business, and your success is measured by it. This position is based at a Ryder location and is not remote.

  • Location: Roseville, MI/Highland Park, MI

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, Business Hours

  • Territory: Southfield to East side of Detroit

What You'll Do

Prospecting & Market Engagement

  • Develop and execute a pre-sales strategy for target accounts across all channels — tele, digital, direct mail, and in-person
  • Build a pipeline sufficient to meet and exceed quota; respond proactively to inbound leads
  • Represent the full spectrum of Ryder services, educating prospects using the Ryder Sales Process
  • Coordinate with CEMs and CDMs to transition accounts and maximize opportunities
  • Partner with National/DTS/SCS Sales teams to develop opportunities within your assigned territory
  • Complete new customer orientation for all closed accounts

CRM & Pipeline Management

  • Maintain Salesforce with accurate prospect tiers, opportunity stages, proposals, and follow-up activity
  • Use Seismic for structured, consistent go-to-market execution — mailings, collaboration leads, and prospecting reports

Administrative & Development

  • Complete admin functions including rate sheets, vehicle specifications, and package processing
  • Actively invest in sales skills, industry knowledge, and personal growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business and/or Marketing Administration or equivalent field, Preferred
  • H.S. Diploma/GED, Required
  • 2 years or more in Demonstrated consecutive Sales
    excellence (quota achievement) in
    prior sales responsibilities, Required
  • Good understanding of Ryder's product offerings. Represent the full spectrum of Ryder's services to new and potential customers Advanced, Required
  • Ability to interpret financial data Advanced, Required

Compensation Information:

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type:

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

$58,000 + Commission (avg $15k to $20k 1st year)

Maximum Pay Range:

$58,000 + Commission (avg $15k to $20k 1st year)
