Position Summary


The Business Development Manager manages all aspects of prospect development from pre‑sale through close. You will develop and leverage referral sources, identify new clients that match Marsh’s client profile, and ensure a consistent flow of new revenue for the practice in Saudi Arabia, with a primary focus on the Jeddah market.

Key Mandatory Requirements


- Saudi nationals only.  
- Prior experience in the insurance industry is required; strong preference for candidates from insurance brokerage firms.  
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant insurance sales/BD experience; 5+ years preferred.  
- Excellent to fluent English (written and verbal) is mandatory — must be able to communicate confidently with internal stakeholders and external clients.  
- Demonstrated commercial and sales skills, including business development, lead generation, prospecting new clients, negotiation and closing deals, revenue generation, and meeting sales targets.

Highly Preferred Candidate Profile


- Multinational broker experience.
- Candidates with an existing client portfolio or strong market relationships will have a significant advantage.  
- Based in Jeddah (Highly preferred).  
- Revenue-driven personality with proven success in sales/BD.

Essential Job Responsibilities


- Identify, qualify and actively pursue potential new business opportunities across the Jeddah market.  
- Conduct client meetings and presentations; present Marsh’s value proposition clearly and persuasively.  
- Lead coordination of organizational resources necessary to drive sales to completion.  
- Identify and develop referral sources through personal contact and presentations of Marsh’s resources.  
- Create sales proposals and presentations; coordinate delivery with referral source partners.  
- Generate additional revenue by introducing and leveraging other Marsh products and services where appropriate.  
- Convert prospects into active clients and transition to client executives; support implementation and handover to account management.  
- Manage and develop client relationships to support long‑term business growth and meet annual revenue targets.  
- Utilize internal and external information sources to gather market and prospect data and position Marsh effectively.  
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date prospective client information in the CRM/database.  
- Conduct outbound follow‑up calls and cold calls to generate and progress leads.  
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies


- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Sales/Commercial studies. Practical experience and commercial ability are prioritized.  
- Minimum 4+ years of insurance sales experience; 5+ years preferred. Prior brokerage experience highly valued.  
- Strong business development, negotiation and closing skills; proven ability to originate new business and convert cold leads into qualified prospects.  
- Self‑starter with the ability to independently initiate and progress new opportunities.  
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate technical information to less‑technical audiences.  
- Proven time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, timely work.  
- Strong active listening and follow‑up skills.  
- Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the Saudi insurance market is required.

- Primary work setup is office‑based in Jeddah. Internal flexibility may exist depending on business needs.

Education


- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree preferred.  
- Background : Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Sales/Commercial studies. Practical experience is important.
