What you will be doing
This is a high-profile operational role at the heart of Rolls-Royce Submarines’ Business Development function. You will lead operational excellence across the Business Development pipeline, ensuring campaigns are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in line with strategic objectives.
You’ll manage tools, reporting, and processes that enable teams to track performance, make data-driven decisions, and improve capability across Defence and Civil Nuclear markets. This role also provides exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to shape ways of working for a growing and high-performing team.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the Business Development function operates smoothly, delivers coherent reporting, and continuously improves through streamlined processes and training initiatives. You'll also:
Develop, implement, and maintain operational processes, dashboards, and tools to track campaigns, pipeline, and financial performance.
Lead reporting and analytics on budgets, resource allocation, and business development objectives.
Champion cross-functional collaboration and communication across Strategy, Customer, Government Relations, Technical, and Commercial teams.
Design and deliver training, capability development, and best-practice guidance to strengthen the Business Development team.
Ensure compliance with governance, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas.

To be successful in this role you will need:
Experience in operations management, preferably within Nuclear and/or Defence industries.
Strong technical capability in data management, reporting, and project controls using Excel and other software tools.
Ability to prioritise multiple campaigns and operational tasks, managing budgets and resources efficiently.
Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
Resilient, proactive, and able to work effectively in a high-pressure, high-profile environment.
