What’s involved?
As a member of the Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) team, approx 65 nationally, these roles focus on supporting the Business Development (BD) team in the development and preparation of marketing materials, tender/bid submissions (as well as maintaining content, tools and templates), as well as client engagement initiatives.
Reporting to Senior/Client Relationship Manager, who will offer mentoring and guidance, and working closely with the broader BD team, these exceptional opportunities represent a chance to develop and enhance your career in a broad business development and marketing role with recognised leaders in their field.
With 2 opportunities, both needing proactive approaches, exceptional attention to detail and a professionalism that will see you become known as a trusted pair of hand, each has unique points of difference via the sector they support:
- Supporting the Banking & Finance (B&F) practice group, known for their broad scope of work that offers a holistic approach and view to BD – The variation means you could move from Fintech pitches one day to renewables the next. You need to be agile; have exceptional communication and time mgmt. skills; and bring a commercial approach to connect the dots
- Supporting the market leading Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice group. You will bring an agile and results driven mindset, with expectational attention to detail, strong project management skills and a data driven approach to foster client relationships. Your fresh approach to support BD activities and collaborative approach will see you become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the M&A space.
How?
These are not entry roles to the workforce however they offer entry into our high performing BD team. They are pivotal as the go to for the team and relied upon to work closely with other members of the Business Development team. Your role will support the implementation of business development activities, including providing assistance with:
- The development of high-quality documents and materials, including client driven collateral (pitches and tenders, capability statements), directories and award submissions, reports
- Key client account management and relationship development activities including account planning, opportunity identification, relationship mapping, reporting, maintaining client data and research
- Assisting the Senior/Client Relationship Manager (S/CRM) to implement plans and initiatives across sectors and geographic markets
- Client feedback for the practice and supporting the S/CRM to capture and analyse client insights
- Marketing campaigns and thought leadership initiatives
- Working collaboratively with the BD team to coordinate and deliver successful client engagement, sponsorships and industry partnerships and conferences
- Maintaining BD assets, including credentials, web content and deal lists
- Sharing data driven insights and dashboards to support the development of go to market approaches.
Should you apply?
These roles need commercially minded, proactive, solution focussed collaborators. These roles offer career pathways within an elite Business Development & Marketing team at Australia’s number 1 law firm. You will need:
- A few years experience in a marketing role in legal or professional services ideally within a BD & Marketing team; or a legal support role that included exposure to the BD&M team
- Interest in BD & Marketing and contributing to enhancing the client experience
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence key stakeholders
- Capacity to multi-task and a flexible, proactive attitude
- Ability to support the production of high-quality written communications, maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands, and deliver against deadlines
- Ability to undertake research tasks and apply analytical skills
- Ability to analyse, problem solve and apply appropriate use of judgment
- Advanced software skills notably Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Sound understanding of client management databases and software (desirable)
