JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for managing operational business decisions that shape mortgage origination strategies. This position manages a diverse array of initiatives including lending process improvement, marketing programs and promotional campaigns with a focus on collaborating, planning, and supporting all Originations Teams, Vanderbilt Leadership, Business Development Managers and Lending Operations. This position reports to the VP of Lending and Business Development and contributes significantly to both data-driven decision making and the successful execution of cross-functional initiatives. This role is a blend of technical expertise and project management. This position plays an integral part in the overall success and effectiveness of the originations team and the tracking of marketing promotional performance and ROI. Oversees initiatives through project management, content creation and maintenance, reporting of data and tracking metrics, and assisting with events as needed.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Lending Operation Management and Execution
· Independently develops operational plans.
· Ensures all operational management plans are compliant and meet regulations standards.
· Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
· Oversees the end-to-end execution of projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

· Leads Cross-functional collaboration: working closely with TECH, Vanderbilt marketing, legal and mortgage originations teams to understand project requirements and dependencies.
· Creates a collaborative environment and facilitates effective communications among team members and vendors.
· Aligns with key stakeholders to gather project requirements, expectations, and feedback.
· Presents regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, milestones, and potential risks.
· Collaborates with department leads to allocate resources effectively for project tasks.
· Identifies potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develops mitigation strategies.
· Proactively addresses issues to ensure the smooth progress of projects.
· Ensures coordination with outside vendors for fulfillment and to ensure execution and delivery of marketing materials and products.
2. Process Optimization and Quality Assurance
· Works closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement based on data analysis.
· Implements data-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in mortgage originations workflows.
· Ability to utilize Vantage for ROI tracking and strategy implementation.
· Ensures data accuracy and reliability by implementing quality assurance processes.
· Proactively identifies and addresses data discrepancies and anomalies during project coordination.
· Directs department leaders in developing and implementing new processes, along with updating the team on changes and the tools needed to support change.
· Implements quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet established standards.
· Conducts thorough project reviews to identify areas for improvement.
· Uploads project-related documentation to common repository.
· Provides an advanced understanding of development of collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
3. Data Compilation and Reporting
· Compile and clean relevant data from various sources, including internal databases, external market data, and third-party sources.
· Collaborate with IT, Marketing, Legal, Operations, BAU and other teams.
· Utilize statistical and analytical tools to interpret complex data sets.
· Creates and maintains comprehensive reports for the mortgage originations team, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and actionable insights.
· Provides regular updates to stakeholders and executive team on project progress and data-driven findings.
· Facilitates analyzing, reporting, and submitting bonus compensation data, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and timely delivery of reports.
4. Team Member Engagement and Content Creation
· Manages Originations Team member engagements contest initiatives by coordinating prizes, vendors, payroll tax tracking, budget management, and creative design.
· Guides Coordinator with events, by booking venues, handling logistics and managing creative designs.
· Develops engaging content in Canva that aligns with and promotes the organization’s culture, brand, and vision.
5. Lead and HR/Personnel Responsibilities
· Trains and develops direct report(s) with coaching and growth development opportunities including mentorships and counselling.
· Coaches team member(s) regarding performance and completes reviews for team members on an annual basis.
· Builds and maintains a positive and driven departmental culture.
· Instills values and desired behavior in accordance with company values.
· Builds and maintains job descriptions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education: High School diploma or equivalent required., college preferred
· Experience: Minimum 2-4 year of related experience.
· Demonstrated ability to meet commitments, build consensus, negotiate resolutions and garner respect from other teams
· Possess analytical skills as well as abstract reasoning, strong math, and experience with Tableau, SSRS, or SSMS is a plus.
· Strong Excel knowledge required including financial formulas and pivot tables.
· Ability to understand query definitions and relational database structure
· Provides exceptional project management and communication skills throughout all processes.
· General understanding of loan origination procedures
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
· Will be constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
· Will constantly work in a state-of-the-art indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
