This role is in support of Alcura, a Cencora business offering pharma and clinical trial services in Europe.
The Business Development Manager role is focused on proactively identifying and winning new business while building and maintaining strategic partnerships with clinical research organizations and pharmaceutical companies, driving sales growth and strengthening relationships with both existing and prospective customers.
Responsibilities:
Drive new business development by identifying high potential leads and converting opportunities into partnerships.
Be the primary point of contact for the account, understand account requirements, pipeline and develop and grow the account in collaboration with quoting BD team
Demonstrate growth in sales while managing your own territory
Attend meetings and trade events as needed to grow business
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between sales processes and overall commercial activities
Track performance against sales targets, KPIs within clinical trials sourcing projects
Provide insights on performance trends, identify areas for improvement; propose actionable recommendations based on data analysis
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Project Management, Strategic Sourcing, Clinical Operations ensure seamless integration between Operations activities and overall commercial efforts within clinical trials sourcing projects
Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., affiliates and internal departments) meet customer requests
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the sales operations function; propose changes aimed at optimizing efficiency/effectiveness through automation/digitization where applicable
Work closely with the Sales team during contract negotiation/execution by providing support in gathering necessary information/documentation related to pricing agreements, terms/conditions specific to clinical trials sourcing contracts
Work closely with the QA team to investigate any customer complaints or deviations related to sourced pharmaceutical drugs for clinical trials
Provide necessary information, documentation, and support to assist in determining root causes, implementing corrective actions, and preventing future occurrences

Requirements:
Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field
3-5+ years of experience in sales operations or related roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
Experience in clinical trials - will be a plus
Supervision experience in a growing, but complex global service environment
Fluency in English – C1-C2 level
Ability to travel in Europe (up to 40% of time)
Proficiency in CRM systems and sales analytics tools
Written and verbal communication skills
Strong sense of responsibility, analytical skills and detail-oriented ability to liaise at all level
Receptive to change and new ideas, plus the ability to generate new ideas and concepts
Be able to work accurately & efficiently and meet tight deadline
Prioritizes and manages multiple responsibilities at once
Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
