Aggreko is seeking a driven, ambitious Business Development Manager to lead go-to-market strategies and drive significant growth for our power and energy solutions within the Military and broader defense sector. This role is central to scaling Aggreko’s presence across Army programs and other defense agencies, transforming engagements into enduring, impactful lines of business.
You will be responsible for creating and executing a sales strategy that prioritizes Conventional Army forces, while also developing relationships, managing activities, and driving brand awareness throughout the Army, Program Executive Offices, and organizations supporting EU Army procurement, acquisitions, testing, and fielding.
What You’ll Do
Develop and Execute Sales Strategies: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify promising Army opportunities, craft market strategies, and position Aggreko as a must-have capability for Army programs. Provide feedback on customer requirements and opportunities for improvement.
Drive Growth Outcomes: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on Army organization, structure, and key personnel. Set near-term sales targets and plan for long-term strategic engagement to achieve institutional adoption of Aggreko solutions within Army entities.
Expand Aggreko’s Footprint: Identify enterprise opportunities for business expansion, develop and manage relationships in Army markets, and achieve growth milestones while increasing sales and business development activity.
Present and Demonstrate Solutions: Identify customer capability gaps and clearly articulate Aggreko’s value to end users, program managers, procurement officials, and senior policy makers.
Build Credibility and Partnerships: Maintain relationships with industry partners and customer stakeholders at all levels through consistent engagement, problem solving, and sales support. Be a thought leader who engages customers on Aggreko’s innovation, vision, and future direction.
Proposal & Capture Management: Lead the development of proposals, white papers, and responses to RFPs/RFQs, managing documentation and submissions through platforms like SharePoint and Salesforce.
Market Analysis & Product Positioning: Conduct competitive product analysis using market research techniques and a solid technical understanding of service/agency needs and requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 5+ years of direct experience selling into the Conventional Army, with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals.
Defense Ecosystem Knowledge: Deep understanding of the EU defense ecosystem.
Business Development Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of pursuit development, proposals, negotiations, and government procurement.
Technical Acumen: Experience with technical products and project management.
CRM Proficiency: Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools to actively manage a portfolio of accounts and opportunities.
Ownership Mentality: Strong sense of urgency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to overcome roadblocks.
Army Experience: Uniformed, civilian, or contractor experience working with the Polish or EU Army is highly valued.
Travel: Willingness to travel 30–50% of the time.
