About the Role:

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth for our HVAC Retrofit business. This is a strategic sales role will focus on delivering secured sales through new projects & maintenance contracts.

This position can be based in either Sydney.

What You’ll Do:

  • Leverage your local industry knowledge to develop a pipeline of project opportunity focused on Chiller Retrofit & Mechanical Services plant upgrade.

  • Use your industry knowledge and technical acumen to develop solutions to support our customers with meeting their ambitions for their plant, tenants and stakeholders.

  • Industry networking to promote visibility of JCI in the market.

  • Driving growth via new recurring service and project opportunities by identifying, qualifying, selling and closing (end-to-end sales cycle)

  • Develop and promote JCI’s digitally enabled products and platforms.

  • Work in partnership with local teams for successful development of proposals and estimates

  • Establish and build trusted client relationships in order to identify, define and develop asset modernisation programs.

  • Preparing and delivering client presentations.

  • Negotiation and agreement on contract terms and conditions.

  • Close deals and initiate handover to service delivery teams

  • Develops short and long range sales plans and prepares sales strategies and submissions to reach nominated targets for the Service Business.

  • Calling on target organisations to identify profitable sales opportunities. 

  • Managing the preparation and submission of sales proposals in line with Johnson Controls corporate policies and processes. 

  • Influences tender requests to include Johnson Controls specified Products and Systems/Solutions.

  • Delivers assigned business plans achieving secured sales volume ($) and gross margin ($) vs Plan.

  • Provides information to management regarding the industry and recommends plans to maximise future business in line with the Service growth strategy.

    ·     Represents Johnson Controls in the marketplace by observing the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and demeanor.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Someone with exceptional customer facing & technical skills to transition into business development or an experienced technical salesperson with a hunting mindset.

  • Proven ability to identify customer needs and priorities.

  • 5+ years’ experience in the HVACR industry (or similar field)

  • Demonstrate financial and business acumen with strong skills in customer relationship management.

  • Knowledge and ability to embrace current industry technologies and digital service offerings.

  • Strong pipeline management (experience in using Salesforce ideal)

  • Proven track record in delivering strong results with full accountability.

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, both internally and dealing with customers and stakeholders

  • Excellent networking skills, business minded, change orientated and pro-active.

  • Strong established network in the local market
