Business Development Manager

Chicago, Illinois Full time

Reporting to a Business Development Director, you will integrate across Customer Sales, the Customer Leadership Organization, and Brand Marketing to lead annual plan management for assigned breakfast, spreads, and protein brands within the Business Development Portfolio. You will develop prioritized sales goals, actionable insights, and programs that translate into clear plans for field sales execution. You will collaborate with Brand teams to align short‑ and long‑term strategies and connect customer and brand objectives to deliver accelerated growth.

 

A Taste of Your Responsibilities

  • Advocate for the customer perspective internally and secure alignment on strategies that deliver customer success while achieving brand objectives.
  • Lead brand‑specific agendas and prioritize programs, including customer‑level distribution and merchandising targets supported by insights and activation plans.
  • Partner with Field Sales to achieve merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving goals.
  • Equip field sales teams with actionable insights and tools, activating strategies at both national and customer‑specific levels.
  • Develop category growth goals, compelling sales stories, and new item presentations; manage sell‑in plans and create impactful sales materials.
  • Analyze program results and recommend adjustments to optimize performance.
  • Serve as liaison between Customer Sales and Brand teams to implement joint business planning programs and maintain visibility of key initiatives.
  • Monitor brand performance and trends at the account level and intervene when needed to ensure volume, trade, and profit targets are met.

Ingredients Required for Your Success

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) sales or related fields such as trade marketing, sales strategy, or business development.
  • Exposure to profit and loss (P&L) management with strong financial acumen.
  • Experience managing strategic and tactical trade plans and applying trade spending principles.
  • Experience with customer annual planning processes and retailer practices.
  • Proven success working in matrixed environments and leading cross‑functional initiatives to deliver results.

Compensation 

Pay Range:$107,000-$156,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
