Business Development Manager - Stanley Access Technologies, Remote CT

Stanley Access Technologies (SAT) is a leader in manufacturing, installing, and servicing automatic doors and access solutions. We are seeking a strategic, hands-on growth driver to generate incremental revenue across new construction, renovation, and aftermarket opportunities for SAT and all Allegion solutions.

Business Development Manager

This role will support Field Sales, Distributors, and other Allegion Business Units by cultivating new specification opportunities and aftermarket opportunities, securing sole‑source business, and serving as a subject matter expert for procurement programs and product application. The ideal candidate collaborates effectively across cross-functional teams, business units, and channel partners to drive measurable growth.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive measurable growth for SAT within assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with SAT team, Regional Sales Office (RSO), and all other Allegion Business Units to drive incremental growth through a team-focused market approach.
  • Drive sustained engagement of local Allegion RSO sales teams through joint calls, active participation in project tracking meetings, market meetings, and account planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, marketing, product, legal and finance teams to align go-to-market strategies, ensure consistent brand representation, and drive measurable growth.
  • Support and cultivate healthcare accounts, and other targeted verticals, by promoting Allegion solutions through coordinated selling activities with local RSO and respective brand champions.
  • Identify and pursue new specification and sole‑source opportunities with architects, end users, distribution partners and national GPO systems.
  • Perform prospecting and outreach activities including AIA CEU presentations, product introductions, project meetings, local tradeshows and industry events.
  • Qualify incoming leads (Dodge, tradeshow, etc.), manage the sales pipeline, collaborate with RSOs, Distributor/CHD teams, and other Allegion team members to convert leads and increase close rates.
  • Provide product application guidance and design support for new construction, retrofit/aftermarket, and service opportunities.
  • Market Analysis: Track market conditions, competitor activities, and trends to adjust sales tactics.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate company goals into actionable sales plans.
  • Negotiation: Expertise in closing complex deals and managing high-stakes contract negotiations
  • Manage forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes and provide reporting as required (Salesforce.com familiarity expected).
  • Provide regular reporting on performance metrics to senior leadership.

What success looks like:

  • Consistent growth of specification wins and bookings in assigned territories.
  • Strong collaboration and alignment with Regional Sales Offices, SAT Field Operations, distribution partners and other Allegion business units to close complex opportunities.
  • Accurate pipeline management, effective use of Salesforce.com, and achievement of forecast and revenue targets.
  • Recognition as a trusted advisor by architects, end users, and internal stakeholders.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience, including 5+ years in business development or related roles; experience in automatic doors, access control, architectural or building products industries strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success influencing cross‑functional teams to close complex sales.
  • Strong organizational skills, bias for action, and ability to execute strategic plans.
  • Experience developing healthcare relationships and coordinating multi‑stakeholder selling activities.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electronic solutions and the ability to develop system‑level solutions.
  • Solid understanding of new construction, aftermarket and service business models.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and execute account plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; ability to learn industry‑specific software and CRM tools (Salesforce.com).
  • Ability to travel nationally (typically 30–60%).
