Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnerships: Develop and manage partnerships with shipping lines and NVOCCs to ensure a robust volume growth and consistent ICD-specific pipeline to ensure full rake capacity utilization
Business Expansion: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new growth opportunities across multiple sites to support network growth
Commercial Negotiations: Lead negotiations for opening B/L points and securing volumes at agreed Inland haulage charges
Market Planning: Liaise with ICDs to formulate, strategize, and execute volume growth plan for Maersk.
Client Relationship Management: Develop and support strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients (shippers, co-loaders, freight forwarders) to ensure satisfaction and secure repeat business
Pricing and Quoting: Liaising with principals for rate finalisation.
Inland Growth: Work with Project team to develop a robust growth map for rail penetration (long term) and focus on new growth areas for building new ICDs.
Required experience & skills
Strong expertise in Sales and Business Development in Rail.
Deep understanding of container shipping, NVOCC operations, inland logistics, port/terminal ecosystems and carrier engagement models
Strong negotiation capabilities with shipping lines and NVOCCs
Experience managing senior-level relationships with carriers and NVOCC partners with ability to onboard new carriers/NVOCCs
Capability to develop market plans, analyse trade flows, and assess volume potential
Ability to articulate commercial cases, proposals, and market insights
Ability to drive end-to-end onboarding processes and track multi-site initiatives.
Proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal Commercial Heads and cross-functional teams; clear communication to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
