The Opportunity

Key responsibilities

This is an opportunity for an experienced business development professional to play a key role in supporting our market‑leading Corporate: Energy & Infrastructure practice. Working closely with senior fee earners and the dedicated BD Manager, the role will provide proactive, high‑quality BD support across our oil & gas, power and mining sub‑sectors. The position will exclusively support the UK‑based Corporate: Oil & Gas and Power & Infrastructure team, which comprises 10 partners. HSF Kramer’s UK energy team remains one of the strongest in the country and globally, acting as the heart of the firm’s Global Energy practice and leading many of its most iconic client relationships and projects. The successful candidate will bring prior BD experience to the role and will be expected to quickly develop a deep understanding of the Corporate: Energy & Infrastructure business, its clients and sectors, and to contribute to the delivery of BD initiatives and client development activities.

Pitch support

  • Work closely with the BD Manager in the team to lead and support on pitches.

  • Work closely with other BD teams to provide relevant information, credentials, CVs etc. for panel pitches and significant pitches led by other practice groups.

  • Ensure pitches are logged appropriately and outcomes are sought out with the relevant feedback.

Directory submissions

  • Play an integral part in the directory and award submissions process for Corporate: Energy & Infrastructure practice, working with the BD Manager and the broader BD team and other teams, as required.

Information management

  • Maintain the firm's credential system "Foundation" for Corporate: Oil & Gas and Power & Infra matters.

  • Take responsibility for the management and ongoing development of the Corporate: Oil & Gas and Power & Infra sections of the website.

  • Work closely with lawyers and PAs to maintain their website profiles.

  • Ensure relevant matters are included in the league table submission process for the London M&A tables.

Events & campaigns

  • Coordinate logistics and communications for client events and seminar.

  • Lead on post-event follow-up and reporting.

Content library

  • Maintain a list of awards and accolades across the group.

  • Provide support in drafting and coordinating press releases, intranet news articles and deal announcements

  • Ensure master capability statements and Foundation packets are kept up-to-date.

  • Ensure standard content is kept up-to-date and new content is stored appropriately as new developments are made.

Other general responsibilities

  • Assist with the monthly tracking of infrastructure opportunities and related client follow-up

  • Give general support, as requested, in relation to BD and marketing activities.

  • Deal with ad-hoc queries from fee earners and other BD teams.

  • Assisting with long term projects and campaigns.

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Approximately 18 months+ experience in professional services BD

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Ideally some exposure to the corporate market and/or the energy and infrastructure sectors, but not imperative. We will consider candidates with less or more experience providing they meet the required competencies.

  • Degree educated or similar level of work experience.

  • A background or experience of working in a partnership is preferable.
