This role is accountable for increasing revenue across the Government & Public Sector portfolio in Canada across one (1) of the three (3) Canadian regions – Western, Central and Eastern. The Business Development Executive will be responsible for responding to RFPs and ensuring that all aspects of contractual and relationship obligations of Government & Public Sector accounts are met once the RFP is awarded to Moneris. In addition, the BDE will be accountable for prospecting and maintaining a pipeline of government and public sector and transit solutoions, including selling payment processing, value-added services and solutions offered by Moneris which provide growth, and profitability on large and key accounts.

There are three (3) levels of government in Canada - Federal, Provincial & Territorial and Municipal (City) - each with diverse responsibilities within the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. Moneris' Government & Public Sector accounts, including a variety of Municipal, Provincial, Federal and Crown Corporations. Including, but not limited to, Lottery & Gaming, Liquor, Health, Education, Transit, and various Crown Corporations.

Location: You will be based in our Sackville office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to Manager, Government Public Sector & Transit Solutions – Large & Key Accounts.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $83,000-$103,000.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Prospect new Government and Public Sector merchants that have been determined to be nationally sized prospects to sell an array of Moneris products and services to meet the requirements of net new merchants.
  • Create proposals and presentations targeted at solving the needs of prospects.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms and conditions to ensure that pricing and terms reflect the achievement of corporate goals and priorities.
  • Stay current and educate clients on industry trends, competition, products, and the card services industry.
  • Provide input to Marketing and Product Development Teams on important products and projects required to close gaps in current product offerings, specifically necessary to the governmental and public sector clients.
  • Collaborate with our teams to lead execution for optimal customer acquisition, speed-to-market, ease of integration, and service levels.
  • Ensure Moneris abides by the terms of our contractual obligations. Such obligations include (but are not limited to) pricing, contractual terms and any special agreements we have established for clients within the Government & Public Sector portfolio.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Marketing or a related field.
  • 5+ years of strategic sales, account management or business development experience with a track record of strong sales results.
  • 2+ years of relationship management experience.
  • Strategic selling experience with government agencies or public sector clients is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in the payment industry considered an asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English (reading, writing, and verbal) is an asset.
