The Position: Business Developer and Indigenous Partnership Lead

Type: Permanent

Reports To: Director of Operations- Forestry and Utility

Although posted in multiple locations, this role represents a single position.

Spectrum Resource Group (SRG), a business unit of Wright Canada Holdings, provides services in vegetation management, forest management, integrative vegetation management, and reforestation. We provide this expertise to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada.

Why Wright Canada Holdings:

  • Pay: Annual salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000, based on education and experience, plus an annual bonus tied to company profitability and individual performance.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, with evening and weekend work as required.
  • Location: a work-from-home position that requires travel approximately 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and pursuit of new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and contractual arrangements aligned with corporate growth objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for bid and proposal development, contributing to win strategies, partner alignment, and value propositions.
  • Design, implement, and oversee Indigenous participation plans and engagement strategies, ensuring alignment with community priorities, regulatory expectations, and organizational commitments.
  • Analyze, track, and report on market intelligence, including industry trends, partnership activity, and competitive insights, to inform executive decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and senior leadership to ensure opportunities are strategically aligned with organizational capacity, resources, and long-term goals.
  • Serve as a senior liaison between Indigenous communities and internal stakeholders, ensuring culturally informed, respectful, and effective decision-making across the organization.
  • Champion best practices for Indigenous engagement, providing guidance, mentorship, and education to staff and leadership to strengthen organizational capability and awareness.
  • Represent the organization at industry, government, and community events, strengthening corporate visibility, credibility, and long-term relationships.
  • Contribute to broader strategic initiatives and leadership priorities as required to support organizational growth and reconciliation commitments.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Expectations:

  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years’ experience in business development, stakeholder relations, community engagement, sales and marketing or related fields.
  • Experience in Natural Resources, Environmental, or Forestry sector would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of local Treaty and Indigenous territories, and knowledge of Indigenous history, governance, and current issues.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Work from home with the ability to travel to communities and project sites as needed. It is anticipated that 50% of your work is away from home office.
  • Current and unrestricted Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract with less than 6 demerits
  • Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test.
