Role overview

We are looking for a Business & Data Analyst to play a key role in building a data lake for our supply chain organization. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders in Quality and Supply Chain (QSC) and the QSC Tech Data team within Digital & Tech.

In this role, you will gather and document business requirements through data discovery, perform detailed data analysis and modeling, and support the design and implementation of data ingestion pipelines in collaboration with Data Engineers. You will help transform raw data into usable formats for analysis and create conceptual and logical data models for Haleon’s Quality Supply Chain data.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Data Architects, and others; in an agile environment to deliver impactful data products, ensuring milestones and budgets are met.

This position is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Modelling

  • Conduct detailed data analysis to identify trends and insights for business decisions.

  • Develop and maintain data models supporting ingestion, curation, and enrichment.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Architect to implement and optimize models aligned with Enterprise Data Foundation and medallion architecture, delivering reusable Base and Compound Data Assets (Silver layer of QSC Data Hub).

Requirements Gathering and Documentation

  • Gather and document business requirements for data-related projects.

  • Translate requirements into technical specifications for Data Engineers.

  • Maintain documentation including data dictionaries, process flows, CDM/LDM, and user guides.

Data Ingestion and Curation

  • Assist in designing and implementing data ingestion pipelines for the data lake.

  • Ensure data quality and integrity by applying Data Office governance standards.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to curate and enrich data for Supply Chain use.

Tool Utilization and Optimization

  • Use Excel, Power Query, SQL for data analysis, wrangling, and visualization.

  • Leverage Databricks for advanced data processing, analytics, and collaboration.

Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration

  • Act as liaison between Data Enablement team and Supply Chain stakeholders.

  • Present data insights and recommendations in a clear, actionable manner.

Project Management and Coordination

  • Support planning, execution, and monitoring of data projects.

  • Coordinate tasks, dependencies, and timelines with Business Analysts and Data Engineers.

  • Identify and mitigate risks impacting project success.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements for data quality and efficiency.

  • Foster continuous learning and innovation within the team.

Qualifications and skills

Essential

  • 5+ years of experience in a data-focused role involving business analysis, data modeling or data engineering

  • Proficiency in logical data modeling and translating business requirements into technical specifications

  • Solid knowledge of Excel and SQL

  • High attention to detail, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams to drive data initiatives

  • Excellent communication skills - to be the boundary spanner between business and Tech

  • Applied knowledge and experience with data products and integration technologies

  • Experience in data product development, deployment & maintenance

  • Knowledge of supply chain technologies and trends

  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Fluent English

Preferred

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, SQL, or Databricks, data lake architecture, and SAP particularly in supply chain modules

  • Hands-on experience in a supply chain role

  • Experience with cloud platforms e.g. AWS, Azure for data solutions

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting best practices

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data science or a related STEM field
