Business Continuity Intern

Remote - North America Full time
This is a full time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Calix is looking for a Summer intern to join our Business Continuity team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning. The expected duration is 90 days.

The Business Continuity Intern will support the Business Continuity (BC) team in maintaining and strengthening the organization’s preparedness for disruptions and incidents. This role provides hands-on exposure to enterprise risk management, crisis preparedness, operational resilience, and compliance activities. Prior knowledge of business continuity is helpful but not required; this role is designed for a motivated individual eager to learn.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist with maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), pre-plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Help organize and track business continuity exercises, including tabletop exercises and tests.
  • Support preparation of dashboards, metrics, and leadership reports
  • Assist with updating Business Continuity SharePoint sites and document repositories.
  • Track action items and follow-ups from exercises and reviews.
  • Support basic research on risks, incidents, and continuity best practices.
  • Assist with training materials, job aids, and awareness content.
  • Participate in meetings, document notes, and summarize outcomes.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Business Continuity team.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Continuity, Risk Management, Emergency Management or a similar Major.  Preference will be given to Juniors or Seniors who have previous work or relevant project experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and project tracking tools (e.g. Jira) preferred.
  • Strong analytical or documentation skills preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new concepts, tools, and processes.
  • Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).

The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

San Francisco Bay Area:

21.85 - 28.75 USD Hourly

Select US Metros and States:

19.00 - 25.00 USD Hourly

Other US Locations:

17.10 - 22.50 USD Hourly
