Salary Range: $50,000 - $69,000 (base salary + bonus)

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Team Manager, Business Support, the successful candidate will be responsible for all front-line telephone collections on past due business accounts and work with customers in addressing any issues relating to non-payment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage collections for a portfolio of delinquent Business accounts.

  • Make contact with customers through telephone calls, letters or e-mails with the intent to collect outstanding balances.

  • Liaise with customers to develop payment plans and repayment schedules.

  • Meet with customers to discuss and resolve payment issues and other disputes relating to their accounts (apply for adjustments to invoices, arrange for additional transponders to be sent for the exchange of old ones, prepare spreadsheets, review trip details, apply for write-offs, etc)

  • Respond daily to customer calls, letters and e-mails to discuss incorrect invoices/review trip details.

  • General administrative duties including daily maintenance of portfolio spreadsheet, preparing month-end reports, filing as needed and updating conversations into customer’s accounts.

  • Collaborate with Manager, Commercial Accounts on some customer issues and establish corrective actions.

  • Produce and maintain various collection activity reports.

  • Research and prepare files for third party collection action.

  • Must be flexible and able to log into the phones on the Personal Early Cure Queue if required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years collections experience preferred.

  • Business or vocational knowledge learned through Community College or University.

  • Proficient with PeopleSoft, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Webcare, Acrobat Adobe, Maestro, Telephone, Fax machine, Photocopier and Printer.

  • General knowledge of office procedures and practices.

  • Good organization, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Customer service oriented with ability to use initiative and good judgment in a fast-paced environment.

  • Possess positive attitude and good work ethic.
