OverviewThe Business/Clinical Intelligence Manager will serve as a leader of a team of Business Intelligence Developers, and must be certified in Cogito Tools Administration and/or as a Cogito Project Manager, and must be deeply familiar with iCare (Epic) and the Riverside organization. The manager provides technical expertise in an assigned focus area (data engineering, data development, or data science) under the direction of the Chief Data Scientist, and provides team leadership, direction of special projects or major software implementations, and will lead one or more data governance committees. The manager will oversee triage of analytic needs and corresponding build, ensure adherence to adopted team norms, assist the team with data science service delivery, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
What you will do- Team Leadership: The Business/Clinical Intelligence Manager is responsible for leading a team of Business Intelligence Developers. This involves guiding and supervising team members, setting performance expectations, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment to achieve the team's goals. The manager executes on the organization's data science strategy.
- Stakeholder Communication: The manager is expected to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This includes understanding and prioritizing analytic needs, translating them into actionable tasks for the team, and providing regular updates and insights to stakeholders to support informed decision-making. Communicate clearly and precisely, verbally and in writing, with team members and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner - adapting communication style to recipients. Lead 1 or 2 interdisciplinary workgroups.
- Project Leadership: The manager is responsible for leading special projects and/or major software implementations. This entails project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure successful outcomes. Effective project management skills are crucial for meeting project deadlines and objectives. Maintain Cogito Project Manager certification or Cogito Tools Administration as a requirement. Reviews upgrade documentation related to Cogito tools and content; determines best methods for implementing, disseminating, and training on the changes. Ensures all related reporting continues to function as expected. Ensures all assigned upgrade related tasks are completed on time. Review Nova Notes and enter Sherlock support logs as necessary, review progress on Epic Honor Roll and Epic Gold Star status.
- Technical Expertise: Within their assigned focus area (data engineering, data development, or data science), the manager is expected to provide technical expertise. This includes staying up-to-date with industry best practices and trends, contributing to technical solutions, and collaborating with the Chief Data Scientist to align projects with the organization's data strategy. Research and proactively report on opportunities within Epic UserWeb, Galaxy, or other software packages within the developer's purview.
- Data Governance: The manager will lead one or more data governance committees, indicating their role in ensuring data quality, security, and compliance within the organization. This function involves setting data governance standards, overseeing data-related policies, and collaborating with stakeholders to maintain data integrity.
- Certification and Expertise: The manager must hold and maintain certifications in Cogito Tools Administration and/or as a Cogito Project Manager, demonstrating a deep understanding of these tools. Additionally, they should possess a thorough knowledge of iCare (Epic) and the Riverside organization, ensuring their ability to effectively leverage these systems for business or clinical intelligence purposes. Maintain NVT (Epic New Version Training) in 1 or more data models.
QualificationsEducation- Bachelors Degree, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or Related Field (Required)
Experience- 7-10 years Progressive healthcare, consulting, or project management experience. (Required)
- 3-4 years Candidates should have relevant experience encompassing reporting system administration, report creation and maintenance, SQL development, data extraction, relational database concepts, and proficiency in EPIC Reporting Application(s). (Required)
Skills and Abilities- Relevant Epic certifications required within 120 days.
- EPIC Cogito Project Manager or Cogito Tools Administration certification required within 1 year.
- Knowledge: Business Intelligence Tools: Proficiency in using business intelligence tools such as Cogito Tools and EPIC Reporting Applications. Data Management: Knowledge of data management principles, including data governance, data quality, and data security.
SQL Development: Strong SQL development skills for querying, data manipulation, and report generation. Database Concepts: Understanding of database structures, data modeling, and database management systems. Healthcare Systems: Familiarity with healthcare systems and terminology, particularly iCare (Epic), and an understanding of clinical and business processes in healthcare settings. Project Management: Project management knowledge and skills to lead special projects and software implementations effectively. Data Science: Understanding of data science concepts and techniques, especially in the context of business intelligence. Stakeholder Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
