This is a Business Banking credit and underwriting support role focused on analyzing financials and supporting lending for business clients with $2.5MM–$50MM in annual revenue.
This is not an IT, data, reporting, or business systems analyst position.
The Business Banking Relationship Credit Analyst supports Business Banking Relationship Managers by assisting with the evaluation of lending opportunities and maintaining strong credit quality across a portfolio of business clients with $2.5MM–$50MM in annual revenue.
This role is hands-on with financial statement analysis, underwriting support, and preparation of credit-related documentation.
The analyst partners closely with internal credit and risk teams to support sound credit decisions and a strong client experience.
Responsibilities and job duties include the following:
Provide credit and underwriting support for Business Banking lending opportunities, including preparation of pre-flight materials and credit documentation.
Analyze and review business financial information such as financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, and borrowing base calculations.
Assist with underwriting support, including credit analysis and evaluation of lending requests.
Partner closely with Relationship Managers supporting business clients within the $2.5MM–$50MM revenue segment.
Support portfolio and risk management efforts through thoughtful analysis, monitoring, and coordination with internal partners.
Gather required documentation and assist in moving credit requests through the approval and closing process.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to eight years of Business Banking experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience supporting business or commercial credit, underwriting, or lending analysis in a banking environment.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow, and core credit fundamentals.
- Knowledge of credit administration, analysis, and credit policy/procedure
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Location
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule. There's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week with the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
