Business Analytics Director, Client & Customer Experience Data Strategy - Evernorth - Remote

OVERVIEW

The Director will define, shape, and drive the organization’s data transformation, while iteratively delivering strategic outcomes throughout. Collaborate with business leaders to offer thought partnership and drive informed decision-making by leveraging data assets, governance, and analytical insights across the organization. Maintain a key role in leadership discussions, influencing the strategic direction by addressing the most complex and high-priority data challenges. This position is embedded within the Client and Customer Experience (C&CE) team, which has responsibility for servicing both customers and clients across a variety of business lines (e.g. U.S. Employer, Pharmacy Benefit Management, and Individual and Family Plans). The team's primary focus is on consistently delivering outstanding and efficient customer experiences across all these segments.

Position Summary

  • Reporting to the head of the C&CE Business Analysis (BA) team, this individual will be responsible for leading a team of ~40 business analysts, data product owners and engineers that are responsible for data strategy, analytics and reporting

  • Will work closely with Operations, Product and Technology teams to deeply understand the data problems at hand and guide the development of data infrastructure, insights and reporting solutions

  • Oversees and implements C&CE data strategy, including multi-year planning, business case development and coordination with Enterprise partners 

  • Influence new technology solutions that ultimately improve the customer experience and generate efficiencies

  • Develop and/or influence analytical models and solutions that generate insights that solve business problems

  • Act as a key thought partner for the operations senior leaders they support and their direct reports

Primary Components

  • Leadership – Direct a high-performing analytics team dedicated to delivering superior analytics and strategic insights to customers in C&CE. The leader will establish rigorous standards for excellence, providing guidance and professional development to employees to support their growth and career progression. They will foster a collaborative culture that promotes engagement, facilitating the retention and recruitment of top talent.

  • Data – Leverage a data first approach to identify critical business trends and insights to make specific actionable recommendations to the business. Utilize advanced analytical and technical skills to drive data-driven decisions and influence the design and evolution of future state data architecture. Demonstrate expertise that allows them to shape solutions tied to data infrastructure, governance, and visualization. Proficiency with coding languages (e.g. SQL, Python, etc.), data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.) and visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, etc.). This leader will collaborate closely with data teams across the company to gain a deep understanding of operational, business, and other relevant data, ensuring data integrity and governance.

  • Analytics – Utilize a variety of analytical methods to uncover business opportunities and develop strategic recommendations. The individual will select appropriate analytical approaches for each scenario and integrate them into the analysis plan. They will collaborate closely with partner AI teams to discover ways to incorporate new or additional analytical techniques into operations.

  • Strategy – Using a background of proven business acumen, make analytically grounded strategic recommendations to the business. The individual will think far beyond “tomorrow” to identify truly transformational opportunities to enhance the customer experience and operating efficiency. The individual will have the opportunity to be engaged in strategic discussions at the VP+ level.

  • Communication – Strong communication skills are essential for clearly conveying complex data findings to stakeholders in an engaging and understandable way. Apply advanced deck-building abilities to develop persuasive business cases and recommendations that can impact decisions made by the company's top executives. The individual should excel at condensing thorough analytical work and insights into concise, easy-to-understand presentations tailored for audiences ranging from analytics leaders to key business partners.

  • Teamwork – This role requires close collaboration with Operations, Finance, and Business teams across the organization. Individual will be a key partner for specific operations teams, acting as the primary point of contact for all data needs. Additionally, the individual will have the opportunity to work broadly across the business in both a strategic and analytical capacity partnering to generate future state strategy and insights.

  • Product/Technology – Collaborate with the Product, Technology, and Operations teams to design a strategic roadmap for upcoming technology solutions. This role involves leading strategic planning sessions, conducting value creation analyses, and producing outcome-focused insights to validate results.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Business or related field preferred; MBA or other relevant graduate degree in Math, Economics, Statistics, or Engineering preferred

  • 8+ years of experience with business, operations or similar applicable experience

  • 5+ years of people leadership experience is required

  • The preferred candidate will have at least 4 years of work experience in consulting or business analysis

  • The preferred candidate will have experience leveraging SQL and/or Python in a business environment

  • Strong analytical and finance skills are required

  • Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills, including an ability to present work products to senior executives

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 155,400 - 259,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
